Notes on a hand...no big deal

This is an example of why I do not believe former Gov. Sarah Palin is intellectually equipped to be POTUS-

I can't believe that you find this a big no no. When Sarah speaks she speaks from the heart...perhaps those "nasty" notes on her hand were numbers that she didn't want to misquote or a point she wanted to be sure to make or a name she wanted to remember. A speech on a telepromoter doesn't allow the speaker to react to the crowd...it is just reading a moving screen, swinging your head from the left to the right. They even type up when to pause when to stop, when to smile. (Reminds me of a stage play)

Ever notice that with Obama...its all about his head, first to the left then to the right. He is unable to really stop the head movement and face the crowd while speaking. His eyes are always focused on the screen. When I watch, I find my head moving along with him. Sometimes I feel like a chicken doing the head dance that they do. That gadget prevents a speaker from going blank on stage. A note on a hand might do the same. Not sure either has to do with intellect.
.
I really don't care what they used to get the words out...I just want to hear the speech and judge it for what they are saying..... Are they speaking to me? Are they speaking from the heart? Are they telling the truth? Do they really want the best for me and my country? That's what matters to me.

I shudder to think of this person on the world stage- her demeanor, personality, intellect, experience, views- all wrong for the job of POTUS. Of course I also shudder that there are so many who don't care about how other countries view the US and think it is fine if everyone hates us. Ugh.

Republicans have much higher quality choices than Sarah Palin, and I am somewhat surprised when someone as fringy and quite frankly, coarse, as Palin, could possibly be considered for a position of such national and global importance.

What is wrong with the other possible Republican candidates that would possibly make them have to campaign against the likes of Sarah Palin? What am I missing here?

Gasp -
This is shocking and proves once and for all what an idiot she is!! <sarcasm off>

I think you miss an important part of my point. I do not believe the fact that she has a few words written in pen on her hand makes her a mental midget. But when you are delivering a speech attacking a much more talented orator for using a teleprompter you will look like a dumbbell when you write on your hands to remember things during that speech. And because that evidently didn't cross her mind- that adds to the list of things she has said/done that qualify her in my book as being intellectually unqualified to be POTUS.

What told you Obama is intellectually equipped to be POTUS: his teleprompter or his corpseman?
Another case of double standards.

Idlewind, I'm familiar with double standards. This isn't one. Look to Sarah Palin this week for a better example of what is a double standard-

Rahm Emanuel called certain liberal groups "f-ing retards". Pailin said the use of this term was "indecent and insensitive" and called for his firing.

So Rush Limbaugh gets wind of this and defends Emanuel saying-

"Our political correct society is acting like some giant insult’s taken place by calling a bunch of people who are retards, retards. I think their big news is he’s out there calling Obama’s number one supporters f’ing retards. So now there’s going to be a meeting. There’s going to be a retard summit at the White House."

What does Sarah do? She says that Rush's use of the word retard was acceptable because it was satire.
There's your double standard.

Did Obama mispronounce corps? Yep. Couple of times in a row during a speech. But he's no Palin.

Lets see, she gives an unscripted, 30 minute speech with no teleprompter, writes three talking points on her hand.. and we have a president who hasn't said three words in two years that weren't plastered on a piece of glass ten feet in front of his face.. and you're complaining about Palin? Oookay doookey Geo! Come on!

To compare the intellect of Palin and Obama is frankly unfair to Palin. He's the Harvard alum who just faced off against a room of members of the opposing political party (without a teleprompter, Shopper) and won. And she is... Well- you already know.

when speaking at the Tea Party Convention this past weekend she delivered a shot at President Barack Obama for being charasmatic and speaking with a teleprompter. Minutes later cameras caught sight of the palm of Palin's left hand which had "notes" written with an ink pen which she used as her own cheat sheet.

Unless someone beats me to it I'll try to post the clip of her looking at her hand for her talking points during the Q&A as well as the image of what was actually written on her hand.
While you're at it, post a picture of her hand the next day saying, "Hi Mom" as an answer to her critics.
She may not be the most intellectual person in the world but she has a lot more common sense than most. Get over it, Geo. She's going to be a political figure for a long time to come because she connects with the common working man and woman and does not present the elite image though, once again, she is far more elite than many of those who profess to be.

This thread isn't about Obama or his shortcomings. It's about Sarah.

Yes - you will look like a dumbell if you RIGHT on your hand :D

So make up your mind, Andy. Is it good to be an elite? It didn't seem like it when your side used this word against Obama. But now you are saying Palin (hang on, I can't see the screen because I am laughing so hard) is the elite?

If I were to think of the BEST GOP candidate - who's out there > Palin, Huckabee, Gingrich, etc..I would have to go with Brown. And I DOUBT he would pick Palin as a running mate. I don't think he'd be available for 2012 though....

He'd be a hard one to beat IMO.
