There are a lot of people, besides me, who would disagree with you. There is a presentation on Feb. 13th at the library all day on the Constitution and what it is and what it means. I'll be there to refresh my memory. Might I respectfully suggest you and any others who have the same impression you express above do the same? I, and my wife, will skip an hour if necessary to attend "Hands Across the Sand". I am sure you would be welcome.

My point is that as soon as you talk about interpretation, there are going to be differences of opinion. Most people won't admit it, but they want the Supreme court made of of people who think like them. There is no such thing as a "literal interpretation" of anything. It's a contradiction, and a myth. What really irks me is when some conservative so-called constitutionalists start citing the Declaration of Independence.

In my mind, qualifications for our Presidency is a nebulous thing encompassing many different and varied qualifications. I do not think Sarah Palin is there yet but she has all the attributes to be so.
Which attributes are those?
If you had ever been in the political positions she has you would have a clue.

Andy, what I don't have a clue about is why you are being so darn rude. I would appreciate the courtesy of an answer to my question.

You said Palin has all the attributes to be POTUS but that she isn't "there yet". Please tell me which attributes she possesses that lead you to believe that she is POTUS material and what she needs to do to be there yet.

It's a blog published/fact checked by the Washington Post.

The Anchorage Daily News also ran a similar article refuting Palin's claims and providing a more detailed discussion of the actual costs.

Palin defends 'millions' ethics price claim: Former Gov. Sarah Palin | adn.com

There you go again with citing reputable sources as support for your views. Look, this practice might serve you well elsewhere but really means nothing here in the Sarah Palin thread.

Around here if you disagree with someone it would be best for you to claim their view is fueled by hate, that they think they are smarter than everyone else, that they criticize without regard for facts and that they lack a clue.

And whatever you do, remember to be strategically ambigious in your (non)answers to questions.

Right here!
I know this is going to stir the pot, but I just can't resist. Maybe it will serve to put a nail in this dead horse. Here is a cost analysis done between an Obama speech and a Palin speech...

I still kind of like the fact that our president collects his thoughts and feelings on an issue, writes them down and refines them, then presents those thoughts and feelings in a coherent way using the latest in technology, which actually has been used by every president since Eisenhower. Somehow this just seems better than winging it with some reminders written on one's hand.

And the fact that she is even discussed at all boggles the mind. Who'd a thunk it?

that is the scary part...sometimes, I think we ignore at our own peril...it is mind boggling.

I think first and foremost the woman makes for great TV. Palin is appealing in a manner similar to watching a pretty bull trotting through a china shop. When she speaks you better believe the cameras will be there to catch some craziness, and I think that she likes being the center of attention. An odd symbiosis, to be sure. She is kind of like the bizarro Cindy Sheehan.

I think everyone else appreciates that also.
After a thread has gone on for half a century people get loopy and go off the deep end- that's when it starts to get good
It's the afterglow of the debate
So light up or don't

Hopefully bring it back to interpretation of our Constitution instead of attempting to re-write it.

Please, whatever you happen to do on the 13th, please ask them what an amendment is and how one becomes law.
