It's 11:08 here in KY. Just wanted to say hello and hope your trip is going fabulously dar ling. Pretty quiet around here without you. Can't wait for you to get back. Are you going on the helicopter ride and land on a glacier? I won't ask too many questions, as you only have 250 minutes. I believe this is KDW's last night in paradise, wonder what she is doing tonight? Be Safe. Later.

It is still Friday, I think! Yes dbuck...tomorrow is the big day. First trip on a catamaran to see glaciers in a fijord. Then it takes us to Juneau, where we have 15 minutes to catch the helicopter where we will get out on a glacier! I hope I don't bale on the helicopter...it makes me sweat just thinking about it!

Okay, we had Captain Davey take us out on his aluminum boat, the Esther G. in Sitka today. He was an awesome guide. We saw many many whales. I love when they spout...it sounds so cool. I even smelled whale breath... . We went all around Sitka Bay and saw eagles, seals, sea lions, puffins, many other birds and....SEA OTTERS! I thought of you RO!!! Mr. K and sarafunn ate a reindeer hot dog for lunch. MS and I ate the last two beef hot dogs...just can't eat Rudolph.

I won $50 on a slot machine tonight! Then sarafunn saw all my loot and "borrowed" some and lost. I netted $15.00 for the night. I have about 120 minutes left on my sowal minutes. I was nice and let sarafunn use some to check her emails.

I've been thinking of my Texgent gulls in the Texas heat! It is so nice and cool where I am....wish I could send some down there for y'all!

Meow for now!

The helicoptor's not as bad as you might think. It took me about 10 min.s to get over my fear, cause once you start looking at how beautiful the view is, you forget all about being scared. It helps to start off looking straight ahead, and if you are prone to motion sickness, do not take pictures or video. Our pilot handed me one of those motion bags when we took off and he saw my face  , but then by the middle of the trip, I was making him do dips into waterfalls and taking it on video.
Glad you got experience whale breath- so cool. :clap_1:

You're not on vacation, you're on an Adventure! It all sounds wonderful and you are correct about the temps. That cooler weather would feel good about right now.

I'm not sure how I did it, but I did it. Yes, I flew in a helicopter up to a glacier, got out and walked around and never fell! I only closed my eyes when the pilot did a turn and sarafunn and I were sitting in the front with him. We did get "stuck" up there for a bit longer than planned because of the clouds. It was very cold and very cool! The young kids that work on the glacier stay up there for 14 hours at a time! Mr. Kitty is very proud of me for not only doing it, but for not whining at all.

We started out day at 7:30 am on a boat that took us up a fijord called Tracy Arm where we saw 4 black bears...the mom and her two cubs were too cute! Saw a huge glacier up close and on the way back out saw two Orca or killer whales! Think Shamu! The guide said those harbor seals we had seen near the glacier floating on ice don't know what today might bring for them. :sosad: Our chillren have designated their father as the excursion king. It was a long but fruitful day here in Juneau! We leave port around 11:00 pm and will head for Skagway. More boats and beauty to see tomorrow!

gttbm...thanks for posting the Puffin bird! Isn't he darling? I did forget to tell y'all that the whales we saw yesterday were Humpbacks. It is really awesome here, dd, and I think you should definitely book a trip!
