Hey D-ma! I don't think it's the hate that sends him to Grandma's, just the smushy food and cream that she feeds him... ;-)
OMG..I know..she fed us like that when we were kids...that's why we all live by her!!!

Thank you, Sand Angel...I ordered one! Appreciate the link. It should arrive in 3-7 days....I won't have any food left!!! Keeping the peanut butter trap active in the meantime.
Anyone want a mouse???![]()
Discovered eveidence of a mouse in my pantry yesterday morning. Little mouse likes dry beans, pasta, trail mix, dried fruit and rice. I cleaned out the pantry of nibbled items, went to Publix and bought mouse traps and loaded trap with organic peanut butter. This morning......more nibbled packages of dry goods and a tripped trap with some of the peanut butter gone!!! Reset the trap.
Is there a more humane way to get a mouse out of the house??? I'd hate to kill it, or splatter it all over my pantry.
Usually if the trap is tripped and didn't get the mouse, you may possibly have a rat.

This happened when we were in Hawaii. We noticed wires and flip flops being chewed. We set out some mouse traps and they were tripped, but no mouse. We consulted an exterminator and this is what he hold us to do:
Get a couple rat traps, bait them with bacon or peanut butter but don't set the traps for a couple of nights. Place the trap with the short end against the wall where the snapper will come down toward the baseboards on the floor (since mice/rats usually travel along the walls). The rodent will get used to eating the bait. Then on the 3rd night, set the trap.
I couldn't stand the thought of that critter feasting away for a couple of nights. I baited it and set it and went out to dinner--when we got home, he was a goner. He wasn't a HUGE rat, about the size of a hamster, but quite a match for one of those tiny mouse trips.
We kept the traps baited and set for about 2 weeks, but had no other problems after that.
(PS: The rat didn't "splatter." Just toss the rat and trap in the garbage--case closed.)
