How are those things on towing? We've got a little (18ft) Whaler we take out a lot. I'm sure it'd be ok with that, right?

Probably wouldn't even notice one that size. My complaints with the Wag were not enough HP (even though it is a V8) and too small of a gas tank. The thing drove like a dream and the 4X4 system was one of the best made.

Thanks for all the info guys! I rarely "floor it" so no worries there. I'm not big on crazy beach drivers either.

Have been thinking about getting a beach clunker to leave down there though .... try'n to talk the hubbie into one of those old Wagoner's. Anybody know of one for sale ; )
no wagoneer, but I overheard a landscaping guy talking to Stacy, Bartender at Red Bar, and he mentioned that he or someone he knew had an old jeep for sale around $3000. I don't know his name, but could probably find out without too much effort.

A guy I went to school with had a home at Indian Bayou and their "Beach Clunker" was a Mercedes 600SL. It sat in the garage until they went down. That must be a hard life.

Our house overlooks the main access at Grayton and one of our pastimes is watching for stuck vehicles. If that vehicle contains shapely girls in bikinis, the men on our porch will be there faster than you can believe. They will fight over who gets to haul you out of the sand and probably ask you to stay for supper. Our women will sit in the rockers on the deck, enjoying the sight of these guys moving faster than they have in many moons. We'll also make you a glass of iced tea if you don't complain about it having sugar in it!

Thanks for continuing to be our entertainment and for being good sports about it! :welcome:
