So has anyone heard that we are currently without and Medical Examiner and in the event you die you would have to be transported to Tallahassee or Pensacola?
but who will transport the bodies? There is no one to do that either, and from what I understand, without a Medical Examiner, morticians do not have the authority to perform a cremation.

Its all good SWGB! I will cover your cab fair if needed:rotfl:

I'm going to hold you to it. :D Is a post legally binding?

That was the other issue they haven't come up with. The owner of Southerland Funeral homes said it will hurt there business. Of course this is the same family that installed a drive thru in there funeral home.

Mermy this is killing me. I hate to hear about your sweet Daisy cat. I'm so glad she waited to have Fyl home to say good bye. I'm so very sorry.

Very interesting. I'm intrigued by the way they pre-sell the wooden caskets and give you suggestions as to how they can be worked into your home decor until they're "called into action."

"Here, our casket with rope handles is used as a music center. The unit can also be placed on the floor horizontally (not shown). The long side, now on top, can be used for plants, more books, or other items.

Whether the casket is vertical or horizontal, the lid can be attached for items you want to store out of sight. If the unit is laid with it's bottom to the floor, the closed unit can serve as a coffee table."

Talk about a conversation starter....

Oh what I wouldn't give to hear what the blonde gay guy from the "Fab 5" would have to say about this! :D

Mermy, I?m also sorry to hear about Daisy. You?ll think of her and the years of joy that she gave you, often.

We lost Brighteyes the Martini Time cat (shown in my tar) on August 14. She always traveled to the beach with us. Our dog loved her and looked for her for days after she passed away.

The bright side is that our dog?s life expectancy is greater than ours, so we might not have to bury another pet. :sosad:

Our roommate died suddenly some years back and he was embalmed AND cremated. We had the viewing and then he was cremated and turned over to his father. His father scattered some of his remains at Seaside (he worked at the old Shades) and then took the rest home to Ohio where he had the urn buried with a headstone. I thought it was nice that they still had the viewing and everything.

We learned the above lesson after we spread my moms ashes at a local state park. The ironic thing is the statute of limitations is almost up and if they ever try to develop it it's a final resting place, might at least creep out a developer.

Would you be stuffed and standing in the corner?
OMG, Kenny in the corner. We could all sign him with a Sharpie....:rotfl:

Pardon my practicality here, but a good point was made earlier: You are never too young to take care of these things.

1. Make a living will and make sure that everyone knows it contains your wishes and abides by them
2. Make a last will and testament to direct your heirs as to your wishes, and make sure that everyone knows it contains your wishes and abides by them.
3. Prepay for the services, plot, cremations, reef, whatever via a reputable insurance plan. That way no $ have to change hands at a vulnerable time.
4. If you are concerned about eternity, take care of the relationship between you and God.

sorry about sounding morbid, but the nuts and bolts of dying are real and need to be addressed.

I can only hope that there will be a great celebration of life when I leave this place.
I CAN NOT TELL YOU HOW IMPORTANT THAT ALL OF THE ABOVE THINGS ARE. CALL TOMMOROW AND GET THE BALL ROLLING ON #1 & #2 IT MAKES THINGS EASIER..... you never know how people change after a death. Your best friend could become your ememy all over something silly. If you need any help PM me....

Is this b/c of the Martin case in PC???:dunno:
