Page A4 of the daily news today gives a factually correct but misleading headline, "Top generals buck White House on military gay ban". While the generals may have some minor reservations the top admirals of the Navy and Coast Guard don't seem to have a problem with it. The article also doesn't mention that when asked by Sen. Mark Udall of Colorado if they would have a problem with implementation if DADT were repealed they each said no. John McCain as usual sounded like an ass trying to tie repeal of DADT to the economy, wtf? This type of incomplete reporting is disappointing.

The military makes men out of boys. Gays are certainly capable to serve in the military but they will just get their butts beat by alot of small town boys. It will cost a fortune to build separate bunks and bathrooms. I guess it will all work out in time. I grew up in Montgomery, Al and my best friend's dad was George Wallace. So I saw alot and was followed around in high school by body guards when the first black kids were integrated into our school with Peggy Sue Wallace and little George Wallace. It all worked out and this military will sort its self out in time. I remember my father thought it was horrible to allow women in the military. It worked out. Let's just chill.

McCain is just pandering to the far right of his base.

Best I can tell, he sold out (ethically and probably financially) after he lost to W in the 2000 primaries when he learned that a moderate, straight-shooting candidate was screwed by the system.

I respect his courage during his service to our nation but I have nothing but disdain for his politics now.

Wow the partisan rhetoric from the GOP is unreal.

Starting off your comments with "Lame Duck Congress" is pretty low. So far not a single compelling argument against it, mostly borderline stereotypical comments.

The Democrats have only pointed out the hypocrisy of the policy, the fact that gays and lesbians are currently serving, and that the majority of armed services members are against it.
