Don't Buy Citgo!

Well, unfortunately, Citgo seems to be the cheapest as to gas but we still do not buy from them. The U.S. does not have many countries that like us other than England, Australia, Israel and Canada maybe. We do not have many allies. I would say we are the most disliked country, that is for sure.

Isn't it funny how nobody likes us except when it comes time to dole out foreign aid and when they are looking for a place to get an education or relocate to? I think Barbados pretty much likes us as well

Right, and there is plenty of oil in England, Australia, Israel, Canada, and Barbados. :funn:

Again, this Citgo/Venezuela situation is only a symptom of the actual problem. The real problem lies with the fact that our politicians' pockets are lined with money from big oil and big motors.

this is another issue entirely. sad but true that Americans have this worldwide image that is not very pretty.

Heck, buy gas anywhere in Walton County, and no matter who the retailer is, chances are that the gas came from a Citgo Terminal in Niceville or Panama City, so it's not like you can ever really avoid the company in these parts.

This is true. And the trucks refill at Murphy Oil in Freeport, so it's not even really Citgo then.

If it is a Chevron truck, they then zip around to the south side of Four Mile Creek to add the Techron...bottom line is, it is all the same.

However, we have started buying our gas at Chevron...filling up at the Tom Thumb at 331/98 drives me crazy anyway. I think they purposely turn off pay at the pump when they see me coming.

I passed by chevron yesterday and regular was $2.11, significantly lower than sowal. why didn't I fill up?

Excuse me for not reading this entire thread, but I have been to Venuzeula prior to Chavez's "dictatorship." Anything I can do to help that economy I will, including buying their oil. Truth is, every oil company has dirty laundry, and you might be surprised to learn about the malfeasances of any "westernized" conglomerate.
Citgo often has the lowest prices around so I AM THERE. We are all Americans by chance, you could have just as easily been born in some South American ghetto...wouldn't you want to push some oil then???
