okay, who does not say the eff word? raise your hand.

language is not a concern to me in a real "interview" like the one on the GMA this morning - it was hilarious! we (and chldren) see much worse in movies and TV shows. I could start a whole thread about the degradation of subject matter in today's tv sitcoms and shows - IMO this is far worse than an occasional "bad" word. but an interview with Diane Keaton and she slips up and says the F word? please. where is america's effing humor?

tv content, for me, is a major concern to consider, especially the news. the news contains the most violent content, along with sensationalized stories of every kind. that is what I consider worthy of concern when my child, or myself for the matter, is in the room.

[This is the 2nd time I have deleted this video from this thread. Please do not post again. SoWal.com does not allow obscenity. If you want obscenity, go watch TV - kurt]

why do people care about this, especially when they didn't actually SEE it? I can understand if someone SAW it happen and was truly offended. instead, some people are offended by what they did NOT see.

you can SEE it (above) if you choose. or not.

:rotfl:Oh, Daddy-O I love you so...

Toots,. Of course, Hop will tell you that I'll drop the f-bomb when I'm sorely, sorely provoked.

Just as a matter of conversation--not a soapbox, no axe to grind: There was a time when I did use it, and one day I was listening to a bunch of female aquaintences talking, and it just hit me that I didn't like the way that word sounded, especially coming from a woman. I think I've become even more prone to edit even what I call the "Biblical cusswords" from my vocabulary lately because I have to hear the kids at school talk. There are so many other colorful words.

And I don't like to hear them on t.v. Are we going to blend the big 7 into our cultural vocabulary? It did kind of bother me that I went to see "Cars" with my little nephews--I think they were 2 and 5 at the time?--and they use "redneck h3!!" and some other iffy statement (I forgot the other one.) How do I tell them that they can't say what Mater said?

Diane Sawyer is laughing because Diane Keaton is high.
I think SJ thinks she was high...;-)

nohall - I agree. there are times/situations when it sounds like people just have no manners or respect for others when they are spouting off curse words for no apparent reason.

I say, if you say it, mean it.

I just think Keaton's accidental use of you know what word was funny as hail. and I believe most people with any sense of humor whatsoever would have a good laugh and hope the kids didn't hear it.

Amen Miss Kitty, I think that it is the parents responsibility to guide their children in the right direction with everything that is going on in the world today. You definately won't stop any of it, so stop waisting your energy in trying to do so, and focus that energy on doing something with it within "your home". You can only control that which you have control over...yourself and your home. Anything else is waisted energy.

To the last few postings..The "F" word as we are referring to it can be a very powerful word if used in the right context...and if you are married and have the "s" word regularly...then I promise you that you do in fact use the "f" word from time to time (no-one "makes love" all the time), maybe not verbally but definately physically!:funn:
