It is so not green! The only useful telephone book is the one that's at Publix that currently has on the cover what I think is the beach walkover for Watercolor West. The other ones are all about Destin/Fort Walton/PCB with too much irrelevant data to sort through.

i am so with you about this being so environmentally UNFRIENDLY!!! i live sort of in the woods at the end of a dirt road, so i don't get as many as others, but still i have way too many! i have checked into recycling them & have not found anywhere that you can recycle. seems like several years ago there was a place in fwb (near their courthouse?) that you could drop them.

hey, this could be a project that elitrope was looking for....in a previous thread elitrope was looking for a mentor in sustainable things....um, maybe i'm not explaing very well! i am with you, davidd, we should make a statement to the oh-so-many phone company businesses that we aren't interested! i never use a phone book! i either look it up on anywho.com or free 411 on my phone. what a complete waste!

I miss the days when in order to obtain a phone book, you had to steal it from the phone booth!

Two phone books delivered since Saturday...........I've had a total of about 8 or 9 since May...........I think it should be considered a crime.

I have done that...only once. They were so hard to come by back then. Can anyone tell me which one is worth keeping? Are any of them so different from each other? I guess Embarq is the "official" phone book for the Santa Rosa Beach area...of course they all comes in 2 sizes. They are taking up valuable drawer and cabinet space only because I can't decide which to throw out (recycle). :dunno:
