I'm still trying to understand what the hail McCain was thinking choosing Palin. Did he think the right wing of his party would abstain, vote Barr, or Obama? Any three actions would produce the same result. Talk about a stupid decision!!!!

Many of us are not pleased with the leftwingers and their media surrogates systematic attempt to destroy Sara Palin. That is far more "negative and unprofessional " than anything Palin and McCain have said about Obama.:bang:

How has the media tried to destroy Sarah Palin? Coverage of her (when allowed) is far nicer than anything about Hilary and FAR more truthful and fair than ANYTHING she has said about Obama.

We can debate the word destroy but Maureen Dowd lamenting that Palin does not talk like the East Coast elite and - ta ta - did not attend an Eastern School let alone an Ivy League school.

I could go on and on but that is all I have to say about that.

Criticizing her speaking and her college? As her voice is worse than nails on a chalkboard to me and she went to multiple not so special schools I don't consider that "destroying."

Certainly not on par w/ calling someone a terrorist and spreading lies about them!

If when you say media , you are referring to columnists giving the opinions that they are paid to provide, I can see your confusion and distorted belief that the media is out to get Palin.

A leftward bias is the reality. The best way to combat this is to turn off the tube.

and the internet and print media. I have not realized how left slanted the media is until this election. Maybe because I voted democrat before.

For anyone who thinks the negativity toward Obama is greater, please do a search on Sarah Palin. Thousands of negative articles. I read an article today on Obama supporters at a rally wearing shirts that were the most derogatory (not the b word but the c word) with Sarah on it. There are nut jobs on both sides of the fence but this article is buried.

I happen to believe that John McCain's ideas are the best fit for my family and I will not criticize any one else for having a different viewpoint.
That's fine; you can vote your opinion.
To me, this election is not merely about me and my family; I believe that Obama's ideas are the best for me as well as my country, and that is why I will vote for him.
I'm still not sure how all this change is going to be accomplished, but I am ready to work on it.
She is doing a fine job of destruction by herself. She doesn't really engage the media so I guess they have to speculate on her views and stances. If she doesn't like the media handling, she could do some interviews and answer questions.

Has there been a less accessible VP candidate than Palin?
I do not think there has ever been a less accessible VP candidate, for obvious reasons. When she has to do more than recite talking points, she falters.
All things considered, I actually think the mainstream press has been kind to her.

It *was* stupid and extremely short-sighted, as were his attack ads.

It's not exactly buried
Obama has been dealing with so many smears for such a long time, he put up a specific section on his website to deal with them. Some of the email forwards that my brother sent me were absolutely beyond belief in their ignorance and mean-spiritedness. This has been going on for months, since last winter.
Obama put himself on the line, he probably had a pretty good idea of what an elitist black guy might slog through while campaigning for POTUS.
Sarah Palin apparently didn't blink when McCain tapped her for VP.
Unfortunately, the nutjobs and the mudslinging do come with the territory.

Charecter is important in the man that leads the greatest country in the world. And when you consider William Ayers, Rezko, Pflager, Acorn and sitting in the pew listening to Jeremiah Wright for 20 years you really have to question BO's charecter.:bang:

This quote, taken from a post in this thread, is what scares me about Obama and makes me think someone has drank to kool-aid. Change, in and of itself is not always good! Does anyone think the changes of 9/11 were "good? " Does anyone think taxing the country into a depression is "good?" Does anyone think allowing thousands of illegal votes to be cast is "good?" I can go on and on, but the fact is millions are saying they are going to vote for Obama and have no idea what he will do except "change" something. :bang:

I don't have any problem w/ Obama knowing William Ayers or serving on a committee with him.

Before I was born he was part of a militant group opposed to the Vietnam War. He was NEVER convicted of anything in connection with them.

Decades later he is a respected college professor and former aide to the Mayor of Chicago.

Would someone please explain what (if anything) I am missing? :dunno:
