That just never made sense to me. Covers can be more appreciated in the winter time. If you guys want to complain about power bills, ditch the covers and turn the therms up. 81 degrees feels like a cooler when you come in from 100 degree temps. Your internal body temp is 98, so do some simply math, avoid drinking lots of alcohol and eat low cal cooler foods in the summer. It ain't rocket science. ;-)you got that right, I have to have cold so I can pile on the covers....

really??? no I did not unplug lamps, etc. I will tommorow though. Thanks for the tip, CHELCO did not give me any....:roll:Unplugged EVERYTHING? Lamps, toaster, microwave, clocks, etc...
Even if the item is off but still plugged in the wall it will use 30% of it's normal power output. For real.
That is the motto in our house also....True enough. but my wife has a 2 degree comfort window where she is too hot or too cold. As you pointed out and Dr Phil says, if Momma ain't nobody, ain't nobody happy. So, our house is 75 in the day and 72 at night.![]()

I don't feel quite so bad about the bill for my little house - it was $217.90 this month. Not that I'm thrilled with that---![]()

Only $57.32. I feel like I hit the jackpot after hearing these amounts!
You are about 10 degrees too cold. Wear less clothes around the house and put that therm no lower than 81 at night, use summer bedspread and sleep naked. In the day time when you are away, bump it up to 83 to keep the dogs cool. You are not running a meat locker.
