I wonder if McCain asked what an igloo was first, especially after he didn't know the location of all 11 of his homes? :dunno:

Let me say that last night I watched the post Obama coverage on MSNBC. The network's political coverage is horrendous now that Tim Russert is gone. CNN is by far the best out there.

Oh! I have been thinking of him constantly the past couple of days. It is all truly fascinating and marvelous and I wish he were here. :sosad:

Can someone explain to me why CNN currently has two commentators and an Obama supporter live, commenting on Palin without a McCain representative there to balance things?

Sounds about as bad as Hannity last night, bashing the text of Obama's speech before it was even given. Really, who cares? I'm waiting for the debates, and I would like to watch them on CSPAN.

Not as bad as MSNBC, who is so in the Obama pocket they should just rename it The Liberal, but CNN is still in their camp as well. Both have absolutely no credibility and no shame. They make not even a pretense of being objective and fair. It's no wonder their ratings are in the tank - about as low as the do nothing beuracrats in Congress.

Wow. She just walked out with McCain. Kinda hot. I know where my vote will e going :) Teasin' This is definately an interesting pick, despite where your party affilliation lies. I think they look good together on stage.

Times have allowed for a woman and an African American on the tickets and I for one am proud of that. She has a bunch of kids. I hope she can afford a nanny now though, just in case they are elected. One of her kids, an infnat, has downs syndrome. 5 kids. Wow! One is in the Army. She seems well spoken. Let's find out more about her.

Washington outsider. Whistleblowing reformer. (Blew the whistle on her own party, by the way.) Sold the fancy corporate jet the prior governor (a Democrat) bought. Hunted moose with her father before school when she was a kid. Worked as a commercial fisherman with her husband, who is a full-blooded Eskimo. (He works for BP in the oil fields in the off-season.) Son joined the Army in 2007. Just had a baby this year, who has Downs Syndrome. (She knew from genetic testing early on, but very publicly refused to have an abortion. "So he's got on extra chromosome?", she said.) Approval ratings in Alaska bouncing around from 80% to the 90% range.

She fishes, hunts, has 5 kids, is a champion snowmobiler, goes after corruption (especially in the Republican ranks), was 1st runner up in Miss Alaska, and was the team captain on her high school state champion basketball team.

Palin is a staunch pro life conservative who believes in individual freedom.

She's good looking, conservative, athletic, smart, and a DC outsider! Obama is in trouble with this pick!
How brilliant of a move is having your fifth child at 44 years? The risk of birth defects is greatly elevated. Given McCain's advanced age, was this the best, most experienced candidate available, or a pandering, gamble move?

Charlie Crist would have been quite willing to don his blonde wig and strappy sandals if he had known McCain wanted a woman for a running mate.

She's known as the hottest governor in the coldest state. She got her degree in journalism from Idaho I think. She was on the city council and is now in her 1st term as governor. Conservative base should like her pro life stand.

She's prettier than Biden and seems well spoken lets just hope McCain stays healthy. Given a choice I might prefer a Harvard law school grad over an Idaho journalism grad making decesions for me and the country. I don't know that she brings enough to the table if something were to happen to him, but she might be the perfect choice for McCain to get elected.

All in all... I wish she were a peace candidate (not that I think it would exactly fit on the ticket), but we had our chance to pick a peace candidate (both parties did) and we didn't. So once again, we get the gov't we deserve. But, of the choices for McCain, she was totally the top of the list for me but about the last person I expected.
