It's great to see that after listening to shrill democrat women complain about glass ceilings, they are now ready to proclaim that women should be barefoot and pregnant because the Republicans have proven to be the party of equality. (see Condoleeza Rice) The nerve of Sarah Palin to have a demanding job while being a mother. That's O.K. for men, but women should know better.

These same women were ready to impale Clarence Thomas before any facts came out, but sat by as the Clinton machine steamrolled his victims, a couple of them not even consensual.

Hypocrisy exists everywhere in politics, but perhaps the most pathetic transparent example is with those who claim to be feminists.

Maybe one day, they will throw off the yoke of being democrats, and join the modern world.

Just curious -- do you have lots of conversations with women? Because I don't know anyone like this, and there is no one posting that way on this board. Do you know any women who actually hold all of the above views, point by point?

By the way, Laura Bush, Sarah Palin, and Cindy McCain actually look and dress as women, showing some sign of feminism, while being strong and accomplished. I hope that this catches on.

So ... only Republican women know how to be hot and accomplished at the same time? :rotfl: Have you seen Michelle Obama's wardrobe? Ask any fashionista -- it is to die for.

What exactly is your definition of feminist? Based on that post, I am thinking it frequently uses words that include the letters "itch"!

Criticizing an unqualified candidate who is chosen BECAUSE OF THEIR GENDER and women who just want to vote for a FEMALE candidate regardless of their stand on the issues isn't anti-feminist. Feminist is wanting the best and most qualified person REGARDLESS of their gender, not because of it!

I expect ANY parent to devote enough time to properly raise their children and I'm not fond of most of the fashion choices on both sides of the aisle.

We basically have 2 camps here- the Republicans who think Palin is awesome for every reason they can tie to being female and the governor of Alaska, and the Democrats, who are more concerned with the public showboating of her kids and what she is all about in addition to being female.

Bobskunk's remarks are completely insulting to all women. The women I know that are critical of Palin (including me) are basing that mostly as her public performance as a mother, and using her children as poster children for her causes. I have never seen 2 more miserable looking teens than Bristol and her fiance last night- I couldn't look at them. If that makes me an "unfeminine Democrat", well, I guess I better stop shaving my legs.

As a female non-partisan voter, who is at ease in a dress or jeans, the emerging story below gives me more than due cause not to cast a vote for any ticket Palin is on. How can one be trusted to uphold the law, when they themselves avoid it?

Palin Refuses to Testify

It didn't take long. We've already brought you news of the official investigation into Gov. Palin's firing of Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan. Steve Branchflower, the lead investigator, began trying to arrange a deposition of the governor days before her veep selection. And despite claiming executive privilege to shield requested emails, up until that point Palin had promised full cooperation with the probe.
Now, however, she is refusing to submit to questioning by Branchflower unless he and the legislative committee that appointed him agree to relinquish control of the investigation and turn it over to a state review board made up of three Palin appointees.
Yesterday, Palin took the unusual step of having her lawyer, Thomas van Flein, file an ethics complaint against her with the state's Attorney General. This, she hopes, will lead the AG to give the investigation to the aforementioned state personnel board. Unless that happens, and Branchflower agrees to close down his investigation, she will refuse to testify.:nono1:

Speaking of sexism (we were weren't we?) I'm wondering which y'all think is more sexist:

1) thoughtful, non-shrill concerns about Palin's suitability for the VP slot

2) Or the following antics of Palin supporter Glenn Beck, this morning at 10:10 a.m. EDT. (Yes, I took notes.)

Clip of Palin:
Starting in January, in a McCain-Palin administration, we're going to lay more pipelines ... build more nuclear plants ... create jobs with clean coal ... and move forward on solar, wind, geothermal, and other alternative sources.

We need American energy resources, brought to you by American ingenuity, and produced by American workers.

Beck: "She was speaking my language. It was almost erotic!"

Clip of Palin dissing Harry Reid:

He said, quote, "I can't stand John McCain." Ladies and gentlemen, perhaps no accolade we hear this week is better proof that we've chosen the right man.

Beck: "It was conservative porn!"

Beck recounts moment when John McCain walked on stage. "It was like a reminder: To get to her I gotta sleep with him! Ewwwww...."

<cue Barry White>

Clip of Palin making fun of Obama's rhetoric:

This is a man who can give an entire speech about the wars America is fighting, and never use the word "victory" except when he's talking about his own campaign. But when the cloud of rhetoric has passed ... when the roar of the crowd fades away ... when the stadium lights go out, and those Styrofoam Greek columns are hauled back to some studio lot - what exactly is our opponent's plan?

Beck: "Man, I have to have a cigarette."

...conservative porn? That would be a right wing oxymoron if ever I saw one!

If I were a full fledged Democrat, I'd be sipping champagne with that cigarette. :D

I will now not make my decision until November, which means all you poor people have to put up with me until then. :rotfl:

I didn't see it, but that sounds pretty funny. Agreed that it's pretty sexist though.
