you forgot to add: secretly swipe dip from your hostess, put the entire bowl in your big ass purse and haul it home so you can eat it all yourself. this is so good. my bil makes it every time we get together and you can bet its always a hit.

and MERMY! that menu is so beautiful. what a feast you shall have as you celebrate your dad. I hope you take some pix of your Dad on his happy day. and of course your report due to the board.

Oh, Tootsie, I will have lots to say. Not only is my father converting but all my siblings will be there as well. I haven't a doubt I will have more fodder for posting than anyone rightfully should. :rotfl:

If anything tastes especially good maybe I could wheedle the recipe out of the chef. Ya think?

I have to say that our very own Beach Bummett and Lisa at the Beach made - yes made- a wonderful crab and cream cheese hot appetizer.

Ok, now that you have picked yourself up from the floor from disbelief and shock I am telling you that it is true. :D

BB or LATB please post that wonderful app as it was to die for.

BB also makes a mean shrimp chowder!!!!

I think I could write a book on this subject alone.... I have so many recipes...My ex & I used to have a Christmas party every year...I would make about 40 different appetizers....:yikes: I would usually start prep about a month early.
Toots...Vic & I loved this dip...and it would be good with toasted walnuts as well...I love blue cheese & walnuts. I love gorgonzola, too...

Here is a cheese spread that is devine:
1/2 cup toasted chopped pecans
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar
1/2 cup chopped, cooked bacon
1/2 cup chopped green onion
1/2 cup (or more) mayonnaise
dash garlic powder

mix all together and chill in the refrigerator for a couple of hours to allow flavors to meld. Serve with bread, ritz or pita chips.
This is really a glorified pimento cheese...but it is to die for!

Another great hot dip:

1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, swiss, monterey jack, etc.)
Mix and bake in a dish at 350 for about 1/2 hour, or until brown and bubbly.
Easy, quick and delish!!!!
