Think about it. When we were young and in shape it wasn't because we 'worked out' per se, it was because we played. I'm sure Bobby J owes some of his physical fitness to surfing. But he loves to surf. It's not something he has to drag himself out into the Gulf to do.

.

You are dead on Mike. It really helps doing something you love but I also have to workout hard so I can continue to do what I love. If I lived in area that had waves everyday, it would probably be easier to just surf. here a few weeks go by and you can get out of surf shape fast. I finally just ordered the Px90. Wish me luck!

The older we get the more we have to workout so we will be able to workout :dunno: . How hard is it to surf that first day if you have been sitting around for a month? Or how far can you hike if you have been just floating around on an innertube all summer? Heck, just hauling the laundry or doing the yardwork becomes more difficult every year if I don't workout.
Keep in mind too that while we may love our sports, skin diving, kayaking, biking, surfing, running etc, in order for them to be "building or losing" exercises as opposed to "maintenance" exercises you have to push your limits. Running 3 miles a day is really good for you but if you run the same route at the same pace everyday it becomes a less effective exercise over time. You'll maintain your weight and muscle and endurance but won't lose weight, become stronger or be able to run farther.
If you want to run faster....you have to run faster.

That said, time to get my butt in gear and do my workout.

Alright, where is everyone? I had to promise Skunkape that I wouldn't mention Power90 slackness when I took my daughter in for an office visit. Mostly because I have been slack myself, opting to pack and move boxes instead of my weights.

Bobby????90X? What's the verdict?

Still awaiting it. Not sure where it is. Then I will read everything, take pics and go for it. It may be around the 15th when I begin. I prefer to start at the 1st of the month so I may wait. Still working out with some other videos every other day but I also noticed some slacking on the power board. :dunno:

It is really hard to do anything 90 days but soooooo worth it.

How is everyone else doing? I haven't been able to continue since day 8. Even then, I was on a rather modified (easier) version. I did feel I was making some progress before I had to stop.

How about everyone else? Anyone else start yet? Or anyone making good progress? Updates please! :D

My confession: I have been doing xp 90 about 2 to 3 times a week, you know, something always comes up. Company, illness, laziness, etc..... August 11 was my start date. 30+ days later I am 3 lbs down and lost an inch of waistline.....no bad for a slacker!!! Push ups need work, but the rest I can keep up with. What is really cool, is that I am getting an a$$....no kidding.:funn: It's muscle I hope, but I have never had much of one and I run up hill on a treadmill. Its obvious that I am working muscles that needed some work.

Once I get over the crud, I am starting again and hope to work it 6 days a week.

Not bad at all!!:clap:I'm so glad you are getting results. Stick-to-it-iveness really does pay off. Good job and keep going!!

Wishing you a speedy recovery! :D

The Power90 killed my knees and inflamed my plantar fasciitis. I had to start physical therapy on Friday. My PT guy said to lay off the Power90.

I am so discouraged. I felt so motivated by the DVD. Then extreme pain set in. The pain in my right knee is constant, and the pain radiates up my thigh. My feet hurt so badly that I walk with a limp. I think it was the yoga part of the DVD that did me in. When I started a yoga class last year, that messed up my knees and feet and I had to drop out.

I'm so sorry to hear this. :sosad:

I know it takes a long time to get knees back in order once you mess 'em up. Maybe you will have to do a more moderate version once you are fit again. I think the best part of Power90 is the "just keep at it" approach.

My health is getting better too. I had a bit of a scare last time so I'm going to give it two more weeks before I start up again. I will probably take it even easier on myself this time.

Consistency just has to pay off even if you aren't going full-bore. Like a friend of mine used to say "doing something is much better than doing nothing." :D
