Free me from this thread! :bang:

I mean I hope everything works out but like Kimmi said something isn't adding up. :dunno:
Don't worry, just pray and lay your worries at the feet of Little Baby Jesus. Speaking of Little Baby Jesus, has everyone but me seen that movie. I keep waiting for the SoWalCo Library to get a copy.

Let's hope everyone learns from this one. Don't get pets unless you can afford to get them vaccinated, neutered, and safely confine them. If you can't do/afford all three, you have no freaking business having pets. If your life is transient, don't get a pet. If you are gone all day and into the night, don't get a pet.

You also shouldn't get one if you don't have the free time to love and exercise it! People REALLY do not understand how much time, expense, and attention are involved in being a good dog owner. It's a furry child!

Friend's moron sister is now a first time dog owner - she had a Huskie puppy flown in sight unseen from Oklahoma and is so clueless she thinks a diaper genie is the solution to cleaning up after it because its "poo smells"! This will NOT end well for the poor dog!

I am tired of trying to defend myself, my credibility or my dog raising abilities. None of you even know me. I wanted those dogs. I have had (multiple) dogs before. None (well, maybe 2 of you) of you even know my current work status. I work from home most of the time- and so does my roommate and we/I would be with my dog(s) almost 24/7 which seems to be a much better deal than having them locked up for 8 hrs a day while someone else is at work. I am not going anywhere or moving anywhere else. But of course- everyone here seems to know what's best for me- which is odd considering none of you know me. No offense- but I think only I can make that call.

She had seemed hesitant for well over a week, not responding to my prior email request for her to call me since I have been w/o internet for a week, and then when I finally got her number to call- she was crying over them leaving. It was obvious she wanted to keep them- and she really gave me no other option. She said she had been thinking this way ever since my first job here fell through- and she also cited that I was "young" and she was giving me an "out" by keeping them. Unfortunately, I didn't want an out. I wanted the dogs. But, I do understand how she had gotten attached- I mean- how cute are they? Unluckily for me- that means she's not giving them up.

Apparently a lot of people who don't know me- doubt me. I am not a child, and I can take care of myself (and animals.) I'm just so annoyed lately by the constant doubt. No offense- but if I need advice- I am the first to ask for it.

I don't sugarcoat. I tell the hard truth- which apparently really bothers some people- so I am leaving it to the basics here.

*PHEW* and that is me venting my frustrations about this whole thing, and now I am done. If I seemed ticked off- it's probably because I am- but I'll be over it in about 10 min.

Bluefox, First let me say bravo for speaking your truth. I for one have been watching and waiting to see how this played out. I want to welcome you to the area and I hope you fall in love with the warm and caring people I have met the last 22 years. Now second...this is to anyone reading this. Yesterday another girl posted a dog on the board and for 2 or more hours received private messages about her posting this dog. Some were nice some were not. I will not use names. I think we need to take care of our own stuff and allow other people the same respect.

People sending rude PMs to someone posting that they have a dog who needs a home is NOT nice behavior, but the advice people have been posting on this thread HAS been polite and it is more cautionary than critical in tone.

Far too many "cute puppies" get neglected, abused, and ultimately euthanized because folks don't understand the commitment of owning a dog. Sorry if my post hit a nerve, it was a general addition to jdarg and mango's posts after hearing about the doggie diaper genie, not a personal attack.

My point was- unsolicited advice isn't always welcome. I don't like being told that I shouldn't have a dog because I am young and careless (that is the feeling that came across.) This is a general statement as well- and not aimed at one person. This goes for all involved. This wasn't a forum for advice- it was to find the dogs a home- and apparently they have found one.

Good luck puppies.

I'm sorry Bluefox. I hope you find the perfect puppy for you in the right time.

Sorry it didn't work out BF! Sounds like those puppies already have a wonderful home. and you'll find the right pup for you, no doubt. it will be love at first sight. she'll steal your heart away and then you'll talk about your pup to anyone who will listen, as if its your first babe... we're all guilty of such dog talk!
