I am off to my physical. I haven't eaten anything since dinner last night. If the Dr. asks me why I am so biatchy, I will slap him. Did I tell you I have a headache? DUH!

God Love you sugar! Bless your heart. ;-)

I saw a report on TV recently that said the water intake recommendations we've all been taught aren't really accurate, so I tried to find the info online. Found several links all saying kind of the same thing--we simply need to replace the amount of water we lose, which varies from person to person. Info even came up on Snopes since it falls into the category of "urban legend," I guess. Just hoping to encourage those of us who feel  about having to drink so much water!

I saw this too.
I actually like plain water but not enough to carry it around, let alone pee all day long. I do think it's good to kind of cleanse your system or whatever.
A couple years ago the husband and I went on the South Beach diet together.
I lost 5 pounds and he lost 12.
Since then we both put it back.
It really was a pretty good diet except for the very beginning phase, where you can't have bread or potatoes.
For me, life is not worth living without the occasional wasabi mashed potatoes, and the daily bread.
I admire and salute the SoWallers, and will look to this thread for further inspiration.

I closed my eyes instead and the nurse laughed at me and said she wished she weighed what I did. I will not tell you what she looked like. Then my Dr. came in and congratulated me on my "weight loss". FTLOG, how much did I used to weigh????? So, I get my toofums cleaned next and then just leave me the heck alone!!!

Do I know all about that or what. When I was on WW this past winter, I actually weighed my clothing just to make sure that I wore my lightest clothing to the weekly weigh-in. And I always took my wristwatch off, too. Hey, it's solid and it weighs a lot. ;-)

About the drinking--I don't think the point of drinking plain water is to turn yourself into a human water balloon. That's not going to do anything but make a second home of your bathroom!! But if you do make a concerted effort to drink a bit more that you'd usually would, it holds off hunger a bit and it flushes out your body. And that's a good benefit to your health and fitness.

so true mermy. I used to drink tons of water every day, and it really made a difference in how I felt overall. I've read a lot about how most of us live in states of dehydration which causes a range of problems. I know when I don't drink sufficient water (but drinking plenty of coffee and other beverages), I have a non-stop dull headache, and I eat a lot more (feeling hungry when I am really thirsty)...

I'm drinking tons today!!! yipppeeee!!! thanks for your words of encouragement Mermaid and all.
