Ok, I will tell my horrible sunburn story. I was little embarrassed to tell, but since some of the rest of you spilled your stupidity stories, I will tell mine. ;-)

So, it was 1980. I was a freshman at the Universtiy of Montevallo. It was around 2:00 a.m. March 3. Some girlfriends and I decided we would take a "road trip" to Panty Maw City for the day. So we loaded up and headed south. We stopped in PC, and bought about 3 cases of Miller Ponys. Got on the beach about 7:00 am. Let me just tell you, for those who don't know me, I am blonde, blue eyed, very fair complexion when not tanned. Burn very easily. Ok, so we are on the beach, I popped my first Pony around 7:30 am. I continued to pop them until I could not pop them anymore. The sun was shinning bright that day. We did not have an umbrella and did not care. I decided at about 12:00 I would lay on my stomache and take a "little nap". At around 5:00 my friends woke me up and said we were leaving. I thought man, my back and the back of my legs sure do hurt. I remember someone on the beach saying "You are going to be in trouble". Oh, little did that person know what was to come. So, we get on the road. At about Montgomery I told my friend who was driving to "PULL OVER". I was very sick at my stomache, and was until we reached Montevallo. I literally could not get out of the car when we got to the dorm. They had to pull me out. I was swollen and purple from head to toe. They finally got me in the dorm, and the dorm mother told my roommate to take me to ER immediatly. She did, I could not see, I hurt so bad. They called me back and gave me a shot of something to ease the pain. I had second and third degree burns from the back of my neck, to my feet. I had severe sun poisoning. I was in tears!!! They gave me some Codiene pills and told me to go back to the dorm and go to the infirmary. So I did. And that is where I stayed for an entire week, butt naked, because nothing, I mean nothing could touch me. Well, they did have to come in and rub this stuff on me every couple of hours, but they had to give me massive pain medication before they could do it. I have a twin sister. She came in to see me the morning I got back. She did not recognize me. She was hysterical when she saw me. She had to call my dad and tell him what happened. Well I knew I had had it when he called. I had skipped classes that day to go the beach, and I knew he would kill me for it. Now, picture this. The nerves in the back of my legs were fried. I could not walk because it hurt so bad. My dad called the infirmary. They came and told me he was on the phone. I told them I could not walk to the phone. They went back and told my dad that. The nurse came back and said to me "Your dad said get your A$$ to the phone. If it took you an hour to get there, he would wait". Can you tell he was pi$$ed? So, I managed to get there. Oh, boy did I get chewed out. So, I stayed in the infirmary for a week. Missed a whole week of classes. When I did get out, I could not wear pants for a month. Dresses only....and it still hurt like hell. When I finally did start to peel, I left skin everywhere, it was very gross. I completely know how it feels for someone to be burned, like in a fire. I feel so sorry for them, because I know how bad it hurts. So, now....sunscreen, it is alway's with me. Always. I will probably at some point pay for that sunburn. You may ask "was it worth it" which I might add, my dad asks me still to this day. I have to say a big fat NO!!!!!!!! Where that sunscreen folks.

Now that would be interesting. While you are at it, you might remind them what sunscreen is for!!!!!

So I was in the nude ironing my shirt. My girlfriend walks in and pinches my butt. I did not know she was there so I jump forward and my you know what hits the iron...:yikes: The iron was on high cotton!

OUCH! Bet you couldn't use it for a while. ;-)

There was a recent news article about how young people STILL won't stop tanning and wear sunscreen despite all the health warnings so they have adopted a new program. Instead of warning of skin cancer etc. they are harping on the fact that it causes wrinkles!
