What is the weather like in Boston in July?
I've heard NYC can be brutal in the summer. Seattle, Vancouver, San Francisco, and the Rockies - US or Canada sound great!
IMHO, August in NYC is worse than St. Louis, and that's say
a lot--and I mean
a lot.
My recommendation would be Seattle/Seattle area, Kurt. Go long enough and you can do both Seattle and Vancouver. I haven't made it as far as Vancouver, but I never hear anyone speak of it with ooohing and ahhing like crazy.
Mermaid, our only concrete trip is the June Sowal trip. Mr. Pod is trying to figure out a time for a long weekend away--sans kiddos--and his vote is for Seattle. I might tag along on a work trip or two, though he goes to NYC in August, and you've already read my thoughts on that...doesn't stop me from going, though.
Mermaid, find a nice hotel out in the 'burbs and use the train to go into the city. I've done that several times when hotel prices right downtown are too crazy; I actually enjoy doing Chicago that way. It's easier to drive to the train station than to navigate the traffic and pay the outrageous parking fees.
Hey, Miss Mer--I thought you had a drive-by St. Louis trip in May in the works...?
