You know, I used to really scoff at women who had plastic surgery; just couldn't understand it. Then I got older, and looked at myself from the vantage point of a 30-something, now 40-year-old, woman after birthing 4 children, and I stopped being so judgmental. But I still believe it's the wrong choice for me.
I'm so sad that woman died unnecessarily, BR.

It is extremely sad. Hell, though, right now I look so bad, I'd risk death to look better. I'm an empty nester, so the world could easily turn without my presence.

my mom went thru the same feelings when she was empty nesting, esp. after my sis left. she went out and joined some clubs, mainly the red hat ladies, and has been having a ball ever since !

I'll bet she doesn't work. I don't have time to hang out with anyone who isn't staying at my house. I have a man's job, and then I go home and take care of the house.

my mom has worked 40+ hours a week since she was 18 yrs old or so. she goes to clubs in the evening after work, she's found since the girls left, there is not as much picking up to do with just her and pop there. she also takes care of her 95 yr old (or however old the witch is) mother. i keep telling her it's no wonder she thinks she looks so bad. but, she'll be retiring in about 1 yr maybe a little less.

No red hat for me! I'm 18 at heart, remember? I know all of the lyrics to Ludacris and Kanye, so I don't fit in with women my age. Plus, I don't have time to hang out with the girls. I prepare lectures until 11 PM or so every night because computer science is always changing - what I teach now might not have existed last year, much less when I was in grad school.

Started a workout program today - maybe the endomorphins will kick in.

BR....when I had a "man's job" and did all the home stuff too I looked much better than today!! (having "retired from corporate chaos 3 1/2 years ago)
GO FIGURE!?!?!?

My aunt died from a clot following face lift in Vero Beach....and we had a doctors wife here from a very prominent family (locally and nationally) who died from a clot following a tummy tuck.

Both very sad situations.

I have learned though to never say NEVER!!
