Here's the official sicko report for the day:
My rash actually looks better, but it still hurts. Instead of the "just-got-stung-by-a-bee" pain, I have the "fell-off-my-bike-3-days-ago, cracking-scabs" pain. The only time it is really aggravating is when it stabs me in my sleep (more on that later.) However, I am also sitting around in a nightgown. I have to go back to work tomorrow, and dread putting on real clothes.
The bronchitis is making a mess of things. I usually get over it pretty quickly once I get on antibiotics, but my immune system is down. (Obviously.) I've been taking Hydrocodone like candy for the pain, but thought I'd try a night without it Saturday. Mistake. I woke myself up coughing, and the coughing aggravated the pain. Yesterday I called a friend who is a doctor and asked him about taking some of my prescription cough medicine with the Hydrocodone, and he told me that it would take care of the coughing--I wouldn't be breathing, either, but I wouldn't be coughing. He told me to just take the Hydrocodone; it will help with the coughing, and he assured me I wasn't going to get hooked on it from short-term use, and I need it right now.
My doctor wanted to hear from me today if I wasn't better. I called, and my nurse called me back saying that he had called in PREDNISONE...

I almost burst into tears. I told her that I was supposed to be sleeping, and that I can't sleep on Prednisone...

Then I put myself through the indignity of asking for more Hydrocodone, promising that I wouldn't become addicted to it, but that I need it for the coughing.
Did I mention that I have to go back to work tomorrow? I only get 1/2 day per month sick leave, and I've been out 2 1/2 days...At least my boys will be happy that I'm too sick to yell at them.
