SoWal Eateries Featured in the New York Times
March 28, 2013 by SoWal Staff
A few of our favorite local SoWal spots just received some well-deserved publicity and a nice boost in notoriety with yesterday's story in the New York Times Travel section.
“These are a close second to Apalachicola oysters,” Don Phaneuf, the barman and shucker at Nick’s, assured me as he sucked down a few. “I could eat five dozen, easy.”
I showed exceptional restraint by only eating two dozen, and a plate of fried green tomatoes, a bowl of excellent gumbo and two howitzers of beer. Check out the entire article. Nick's Seafood Restaurant (aka Nick's on the Bay), Shorty's Surfside and Topside, Donut Hole, Sally's By The Sea Store, and Wild Bill's Beach Dogs are highlighted.
