Wednesday Night Concerts at The Village of Baytowne Wharf in July

June 26, 2013 by SoWal Staff

The Events Plaza in Baytowne Wharf continues to feature some of the region's best live music throughout the summer. With a great lineup of musicians, you'll be thoroughly entertained, no matter what age. Bring your chairs and blankets, family and friends and enjoy a relaxing evening listening to your favorite tunes.

This event is free and open to the public, so come out for music filled fun every Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. in July!

Here's the upcoming schedule:

July 3 | Dread Clampitt There is nothing like a Dread Clampitt show. "It’s a tasty sonic gumbo of influences ranging from bluegrass, rock & roll, blues, jazz and Louisiana Bayou funk complete with three part harmonies and pinch of southern humor thrown in for good measure."

July 10 | Forrest Williams Growing up in the hills of Arkansas, Forrest picked up the guitar when he was 14 years old and has been playing ever since. He grew up listening to Rock, Blues, Country, and Folk music from the 60's up to present day, which has influenced his songwriting. His style covers a variety of music, incorporating the acoustic guitar and the harmonica.

July 17 | Rusty Yates Band Old School blues meets a rocking dance groove "Take Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Michael McDonald and roll them into one and you get Rusty Yates."

July 24 | Fuzion Band This Destin band combines some of your local favorite performers all rolled into one band! You'll get rock, blues, funk. And your favorite covers too!

July 31 | Stephen Simmons Stephen Simmons hails from Woodbury, a small town in central Tennessee that’s known for Sunday socials, tent revivals and palm readings. After ten years in Nashville, Stephen is, in many ways, still that Church of Christ kid–humble, good-natured, but more than a little dark and as a songwriter and a road dog, his revelations are as exhilarating as a Tilt-a-Whirl.

The Village of Baytowne Wharf is affectionately known as the "heart and soul" of Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. With more than 12 restaurants, 15 retail stores and several nightlife venues, it has become the gathering place for everyone visiting, living or working along the Emerald Coast.
