The UPS Store at WaterColor Handles Shipping and Business Needs

December 16, 2013 by Audrey Johnson

Owners Randy and Lynn Pike opened The UPS Store at Watercolor Crossings nine years ago. Just last year, they moved to a bigger location in the same plaza which is anchored by Publix, and expanded their services to meet our community’s growing needs. The UPS Store now offers mailbox services, printing, packing and shipping - along with a full service business center. And in the midst of the holiday bustle, The UPS Store acts as a one-stop shop to print, pack and send holiday cards and packages.

Customers can bring in artwork and photos to create custom holiday cards, complete with special messages and envelopes. Popular options feature a family photo on the front with a special holiday message inside, and local artists often bring in original artwork to give their cards a unique twist. In addition to families and individuals, many homeowner’s associations and cottage rental agencies use The UPS Store’s holiday card printing service. “They’ll bring us a list and we will print address labels and apply them. Then we apply the postage and we seal them up and we mail them,” Lynn said.

Full service shipping and packing solutions round out The UPS Store’s holiday offerings. Customers can ship via UPS Next Day Air, UPS 2nd Day Air, UPS Ground, UPS International, or United States Postal Service. Throughout December, customers can present coupons and receive up to $5 off Packing of two or more packages and up to $3 off Shipping of three or more packages. Best of all, The UPS Store has shipping dates down to a science to ensure package arrival by Christmas.

Looking ahead to 2014, the newly expanded Business Center is slated to offer creative solutions for local small businesses and organizations. Business solutions include large format printing of blueprints; banners on heavyweight materials, such as vinyl; fine art prints on canvas; computer time rentals; scanning services with email receipt; digital black and white/color printing and copying; fax services-sending and receiving; binding and laminating; shredding service; notary services, passport photos, and finger printing; and mailbox and postal services.

The new Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) Program gives small business owners a cost effective way to reach their target market. The team at Watercolor provides consultation, graphic design, printing, and a targeted coverage area.

“They choose an area and it’s delivered to every door in that area. We do the printing, the sorting, and the delivery to the Post Office. All the customer has to provide us with is the artwork. Each marketing piece only runs 42 cents,” said Lynn. “That’s cheaper than a first class stamp,” Randy added.

There’s not much that Randy and Lynn haven’t done over the years, but if something new comes across the counter, they are always ready for a creative challenge. “We want to do whatever we can to serve the community. We’ll figure it out. That’s why we’ve been here 9 years.” Randy said.

In addition to offering an array of services with exceptional customer service, Randy and Lynn enjoy giving back to the community in other ways. They also accept non-perishable food donations for Caring and Sharing of South Walton, a non-profit that provides food and assistance to those in need.
