Emerald Coast Top Salon at Hilton Sandestin Apr 10

April 6, 2015 by SoWal Staff

One of the Emerald Coast’s most highly-anticipated charity events is back for its fourth year this spring. Emerald Coast Top Salon gathers a who’s who of the salon industry for a night of makeovers, music, food and fun on April 10 at 7 p.m. at the newly remodeled Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa.

The event will challenge the creative talent and technical expertise of the areas 11 top nominated salons as they embark on a 24-hour makeover to transform their “model” from head to toe. Makeovers are custom to each model and may include any number of salon treatments and services from hair cutting, styling and coloring to facials, eyelash extensions and brow shaping along with cosmetic dentistry, health and fitness training, wardrobe styling, personal presentation and much more. Each salon has chosen a local Emerald Coast resident, who will take the stage and own the spotlight for his or her big reveal moment in a dazzling runway showcase.

“We couldn’t be more proud that EC Top Salon has become one of the most anticipated of our signature annual events on the Emerald Coast,” said Rowland Publishing Inc. publisher Brian Rowland. “We are honored to be able to showcase the artistry of these hardworking salons, and in doing that also give deserving locals and charities some well-deserved time on stage in the spotlight, too.”

This year’s event is made possible by presenting sponsor Dr. Dennis Lichorwic and The Center for Cosmetic and Family Dentistry, which has also provided complimentary teeth whitening for each model. Additional sponsors include BluePrint Health Studio, Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa, Marsha Doll Models, and Emerald Coast Functional Family Medicine.

“We are thrilled to be the Presenting Sponsor for this amazing night, featuring the talents of the Top Salons in the area,” said Dr. Dennis Lichorwic, founder and president of The Center for Cosmetic and Family Dentistry. “Not only are we pleased to help highlight local talent, but also proud to help support the many charities involved.”

The judging panel includes an A-list of expert professionals: Dr. Lichorwic of The Center for Cosmetic and Family Dentistry; Marsha Doll, owner of Marsha Doll Models; Ron Faircloth, owner of Tallahassee salon Evolv; Ron Adams, musical entertainer; and Carrie McNeil, owner of Tallahassee Boutique Cole Couture. Attendees are invited to cast their vote for the 2015 EC Top Salon. All votes are tallied and a winner is announced at the end of the evening.

The winning salon receives an honorary title of the 2015 Top Salon of the Emerald Coast and a year-long advertising campaign in EC Magazine, created by Rowland Publishing. A portion of the proceeds benefit the charity of choice of the winning salon team.

The 11 top salons selected to compete for the 2015 title and their chosen charities include: Avantgarde (Emerald Coast Advocacy Center); C’est La Vie (Taylor Haugen Foundation); Euphoria (Rescued Rescuers: Dachsunds & Friends); Fusion Spa Salon Sandestin (Shelter House); La Renaissance (Sacred Heart Cancer Center); Pure & Couture (Fisher House Emerald Coast); Rollands Beauty Bar (Impact 100 NW Florida); Sanabella Spa and Salon (E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center); Serenity by the Sea (Bay Area Foodbank); Cutting Room Salon & Spa (Wounded Warrior Project); and The Kat House (Autism Speaks).

This high energy, dynamic event is open to the public. Tickets for the event are $55 per person, which includes entry into the event, an opportunity to bid on raffle and auction items, food and two complimentary drinks.
