The Pearl Shines in Rosemary Beach

September 13, 2017 by Audrey Johnson

At the heart of Rosemary Beach lies its gem.

The Pearl  is a 55-room boutique hotel that has carved out a life of its own overlooking the Gulf. In a town that defines coastal luxury, keeping a hotel up to the discerning standards of Rosemary Beach seems like a daunting task. However, for the staff at The Pearl, carefully considered details are all in a day’s work. Whether traveling for a romantic rendezvous, solo soul-searching, bachelorette weekend, or the big day itself, The Pearl the ideal place to stay, play, drink and dine.

Stay
The Pearl lies in the heart of town, with the lush Western Green connecting you to the beach. Each of the hotel’s 55 rooms comes with a private balcony and views of the Gulf or cobblestone street scene down below, giving the hotel an old-world feel. Photographs of Cuba in the Havana Beach Bar and Grill dining room and fine art throughout the hotel elevate its charm.

Each room has a guest services iPad with which you can call for valet, turn your lights on and off, adjust the AC, order room service, and read the latest issue of Southern Living or the NY Times. Complimentary alkaline water from the in-house filtration system, a Keurig coffee maker stocked with pods, and a mini fridge stocked with soft drinks and juice await you upon arrival. As a special turn down service, the staff leaves a baked treat on the nightstand to cure your evening sweet tooth. Signature bath products, fluffy robes and slippers, and TVs built into the mirrors give you a spa like experience in your very own room.

Play
The poolside Spa Pearl offers an intimate spa experience that is both invigorating and therapeutic. The Pearl Stone Ritual Massage is 75 minutes of pure bliss. Aromatherapy enables you to breathe in deep relaxation while warm stones are applied to relieve tension in your back, rejuvenating you in the process. The Spa menu also features facials, and you can purchase medical grade Skinceuticals products in the lobby after your treatment. Waxing, body scrubs, and mani-pedis round out the spa services. Packages are also available, perfect for indulgent relaxation or a bride-to-be.

As an additional perk, guests at The Pearl have access to St. Joe Club and Resorts amenities, including private golf and beach club access, complimentary bicycle use, and discounts on kayak, paddleboard and boat rentals, and beach bonfire services.

Weddings are popular events at The Pearl, as the property features over 3,500 square feet of intimate space perfect for planning the big day. Ceremonies may take place in the Hemingway Room with a mural by Allison Wickey as the backdrop, the Pearl Ballroom where the bride makes her grand exit from the Pearl Foyer, or on the Cabana Rooftop Deck overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, followed by reception at Havana Beach Bar and Grill.

Drink & Dine
Havana Beach Bar and Grill serves up Gulf Coast American cuisine with a Caribbean twist in a dining room modeled after Hemingway’s favorite Cuban restaurant, El Floridita. Complete with a hand carved mahogany bar, the restaurant features photographs of Cuban life and floor to ceiling widows that open to views of the Gulf and the street just outside. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks are served seven days a week.

Lump Crab Cakes with cucumber, sorrel and green goddess start dinner off right. For the main course, Braised Beef Short Ribs with roasted carrots, mole and pickled shallots are savory and satisfying. Finally, Chocolate Layer Cake with hazelnut mousse, espresso cream and ganache cures a sweet tooth in a hurry.

The stylish, yet relaxed Havana Beach Rooftop Lounge offers the best views of the Gulf of Mexico, along with Happy Hour daily from 3 pm - 6 pm. Sip on signature cocktails from the full bar, make a selection from the extensive wine list, share small plates inspired by Cuban life (think Cuban sandwiches and Carnitas Nachos), and lounge by the fire pit and watch the sun set into the water below.
