30A Blue Crab Festival Celebrates Food & Music at Trebeaché Oct 5-7

Fueled by more than 4,000 blue crabs from our local harvesters and craft beer, spirits and wine from across the globe, it's going to be one heck of a good time.

The third annual 30A Blue Crab Festival is a fun-filled weekend celebration October 5-7 in Blue Mountain Beach at Trebeaché in Redfish Village. Proceeds from the event benefit the South Walton Artificial Reef Association (SWARA). 

The festival kicks off Friday with a Wine Walk About and live music. Saturday's 30A Blue Crab Festival will feature fresh local seafood like you've never seen before. Along with an incredible live music line up, a full day of awesome Chef demonstrations and family friendly activities. Wrap up the weekend with Crab & Chardonnay Brunch with live music. Friday, October 5: Wine Walk About 6:00  PM - 9:00 PM
Taste 100 selected wines, craft cocktails, bourbon samplings and local brews. Culinary tastings including "Lake Place" lamb chops, crab and shrimp crepes, baked flounder with crab stuffing, Apalachicola oysters, Gulf Coast Ceviche, special desserts and so much more. Full bar will be available. 

Live music by The Mulligan Brothers, a emerging band from Mobile, Alabama that will get you moving with their their folky rockin' and rythmic original songs. 

Tickets are $75.00 per person and includes two tickets to Saturday's 30A Blue Crab Festival. Reservations available by calling Trebeaché at 850-937-7793 or purchase tickets online.

Saturday, October 6: Blue Crab Festival 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM
Live music, fresh blue crab and seafood, chef demonstrations, beer, wine, craft cocktails, and a full day of family friendly fun. Live music at Trebeaché's outdoor stage all day and night. Chef demonstrations will take place inside the restaurant where a full bar is available. See chef demo schedule below. 

Festival Stage: Chris Alvarado, The Owsley Brothers, Amanda Shaw, John Papa Gros, Luke Langford Band.

General Admission $10. $40.00 VIP Ticket includes access to private VIP seating, two free cocktails and limited edition festival T-shirt. Kids 12 yrs old and under free. Benefiting South Walton Artificial Reef Association (SWARA). Tickets online or at the door.

Sunday, October 7: Crab and Chardonnay Brunch 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Live music and special brunch menu with chef selected pairings and live music by The New Orleans Ramblers. For reservations call Trebeaché: 850-937-7793.  

Saturday, October 6 | Blue Crab Festival Cooking Demonstration Schedule
 
Vicki McCain, a local icon in our culinary community and the former Proprietor of The Kitchenique Cooking School will host a series of fun and informative cooking demonstrations throughout the Festival. Chef demos will be held inside the restaurant. The demonstrations are included in festival admission ticket. Limited seating available. First come first serve basis. Full bar will also be available inside Trebeache'. Demonstrations will last 30 minutes followed by 15 minutes for sampling and Q&A. All attendees will get a copy of the recipes prepared.

12:00 PM  Florida Wildlife Conservation Lion Fish Presentation will kick off the fun with a Lion Fish presentation followed by a Lion Fish cooking demonstration & sampling.

12:45 PM  Chef Jim Richard, CEO of Word of Mouth Restaurant Group will prepare a Lion Fish and Blue Crab Bouillabaisse.

2:00 PM  Chef Irv Miller of Jackson's in Pensacola will prepare Oysters & Bacon with Spicy Aioli. Immediately following the demonstration, Chef Miller will sign his new cookbook, Gulf Coast Oysters. Portion of proceeds of books sold will be donated to SWARA. 

3:00 PM  Chef Phil McDonald of Black Bear Bread Co. in Grayton Beach will prepare Red Snapper Crudo, Avocado Mousse, XVOO, Flaky Sea Salt, Chili, Grapefruit.

4:00 PM  Chef Dan Pettis of One 20, A Modern Bistro in Niceville will prepare Shrimp and Lemongrass Pot Stickers with Miso Dashi Broth and quick pickled Kimchee Cucumbers.

Chefs Jim Richard, Irv Miller, Phil McDonald & Dan Pettis have generously donated their time and talent to support the work of South Walton Artificial Reef Association (SWARA) for the future of our beaches. 

The 3rd Annual Blue Crab Festival benefits South Walton Artificial Reef Association (SWARA). This event will help ensure that SWARA can remain dedicated to deploying and monitoring artificial reefs just offshore along the Emerald Coast for the benefit, education, and enrichment of our Gulf coast marine habitat.
SWARA is dedicated to protecting and preserving our marine resources by creating rich sustainable habitat that helps our fisheries thrive through the creation of living reefs. More information at swarareefs.org.

Trebeaché is located in Redfish Village in Blue Mountain Beach. The restaurant is open daily for dinner from 5 pm to 9 pm, and Sunday brunch from 10 am to 3 pm. Trebeaché's intimate indoor dining room features local art depicting nature scenes in South Walton. If you prefer to dine al fresco, a lovely outdoor patio and garden space are available.
