Artist Andy Saczynski Celebrates One Year in Grayton Beach April 14
April 9, 2013 by SoWal Staff
During the last year local artist Andy Saczynski has gained a lot of traction, winning numerous awards, performing live art demos at events like the 30A Songwriters Festival and opening his own gallery in Grayton Beach.
On Sunday, April 14, Andy and fans of his folk inspired mixed-media creations will be capping off his string of milestones by celebrating the one-year anniversary of Andy Saczynski Studio Gallery. The bash will feature appetizers and drinks by Pandora’s of Grayton Beach, sweet treats by Stacey Bakes, and live entertainment by award-winning musician Donnie Sundal of Boukou Groove.
All attendees will be entered into our raffle to win a $500 gift certificate to the gallery!
Andy said the bash is going to be the icing on the cake for what turned out to be one of the best years in his career. “This was my dream from age 16, so it's been an exciting year,” he says. “I love having my studio upstairs, and I like being able to show customers who are interested in seeing it.”
A few years ago, Andy began making a name for himself on the Emerald Coast as a fresh talent who experimented with a wide range of materials to create his work, often sourcing local junk and scrap wood for his pieces. His vibrant painting style mixed with actual pieces of South Walton culture has made him into sort of a local icon and opening his gallery in Grayton Beach was the next step into Andy’s role as a full time artist.
“Over the past few years I've juggled two jobs to support my family of seven,” he says. “As of this month, I'm 100% focused on my art.”
Since opening the gallery, Andy was voted as “Best Local Artist” by Emerald Coast Magazine and named South Walton’s 2013 Artist of the Year.
With all the success, Andy is sure to have another stellar year here in South Walton and having the gallery will continue to feed Andy’s creativity.
“It's an inspirational environment,” he said. “I like having a space of my own where I'm free to create whatever I want and then display it for the world to see.”
Andy Saczynski Studio Gallery 1st Anniversary Open House will take place Sunday, April 14 from 4-7 p.m. The gallery is located at 37 Logan Lane, Suite 3, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida 32459. For more information please visit the event’s facebook page.
