October 16, 2014 by SoWal Staff
Fall is approaching and with it comes South Walton Community Council's Back to Nature Festival, sponsored by SoWal.com. Whether you like hiking, kayaking, face-painting, bird-watching, beach ecology, or simply resting in the grass or sand, October 19, 2014 is the day to visit Topsail Hill Preserve State Park and support one of the most beautiful environmental assets in the state of Florida.
There are activities scheduled at Topsail Hill all day long on Oct. 19. For early morning folks, there will be a sunrise meditation, bird walk and beach ecology walk along the pristine Topsail Hill Preserve beach. Family friendly activities are scheduled for the afternoon from 1PM to 6PM including hiking, kayaking, interpretive talks, face painting, information booths and an opportunity to view the art work donated for the SWCC 2014 Silent Auction. Barefoot Bar-B-Que will be onsite selling food and SWCC will provide a refreshment tent.
The evening schedule from 6PM to 10PM will orient more toward adult activities with musical entertainment provided by the Owsley Brothers and the Courtyard Saints, a presentation by Elam Stoltzfus, beverages by Grayton Beer and a raffle drawing.
Silent Auction items will also be on display on October 17th & 18th in Seaside as well as on the 19th at The Preserve. For further information about the events, please visit www.southwaltoncc.org.
