One of the Emerald Coast’s most anticipated charity events is back for another year. Emerald Coast Top Salon 2014 gathers a who’s who of the Northwest Florida salon industry for a night of makeovers, drinks, music, food, and fun. The third annual event will be held on Friday, April 4 at 7pm at Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa.
EC Top Salon 2014 will challenge the expertise and creativity of the top 10 nominated area salons as they embark on a 24-hour head-to-toe makeover of a local model of their choosing. The event culminates with all 10 models enjoying their moment in the spotlight as they reveal their new look during a dazzling runway show.
This year’s event is made possible by presenting sponsor Dr. Dennis Lichorwic and The Center for Cosmetic and Family Dentistry, whose support includes providing complimentary teeth whitening for each model. Additional sponsors include EC Magazine, Destin Commons, Planet Beach Contempo Spa, Massage Envy, and 654-Limo. Daniel Lewis, the fan favorite celebrity hairstylist from Bravo’s season four “Shear Genius” returns to emcee the festivities.
“We are thrilled to be the presenting sponsor for this amazing night, featuring the talents of the Top Salons in the area. Not only are we pleased to help highlight local talent, but also proud to help support the many charities involved,” said Dr. Dennis Lichorwic, founder and president of The Center for Cosmetic and Family Dentistry.
The judging panel includes an A-list of expert professionals: Dr. Lichorwic of The Center for Cosmetic and Family Dentistry; Marsha Doll, owner of Marsha Doll Models; Ron Faircloth, owner of Tallahassee salon Evolv; Michelle Uhfelder, managing director of 98 Republic; and Rosemary Martinek, owner of Massage Envy. Audience members also get a chance to cast a vote for their favorite model.
The 10 finalist salons selected to compete for the 2014 title and their chosen charity include: Magnolia Salon (PAWS); Euphoria Hair Salon (American Cancer Society); SOHO Salon & Studio (Emerald Coast Wildlife Rescue); As You Like It Salon (Horizons of Okaloosa County); Fusion Spa Salon (St. Judes Children's Hospital); Cutting Room Salon & Spa (Wesley Landon); Vivo Salon (Special Olympics Florida); Avantgarde Salon (Gulf Restoration Network); Serenity by the Sea (Family Life Ministry); and Just Me Salon (Children's Advocacy).
The event is open to the public. Tickets are $57 per person. To purchase tickets or for more event information, visit www.EmeraldCoastMagazine.com.
In addition to sharing the stories of locals, Emerald Coast Magazine also hosts community-minded annual signature events, such as Best of the Emerald Coast and Emerald Coast Top Salon.
