Harbor Docks Raises Record Breaking Funds for Habitat for Humanity and Destin Harvest

December 3, 2012 by SoWal Staff

This Thanksgiving Harbor Docks, with the help of community support, their amazingly hard-working staff, over 200 volunteers, and dedication of Charles Morgan, was able to feed 1,674 people a free Thanksgiving dinner. Proceeds from the day broke the record of the most successful Thanksgiving hosted by Harbor Docks to date, raising $19,488 for the Okaloosa County Habitat for Humanity and Destin Harvest.

Over the last eighteen years, Harbor Docks has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars through the generosity of these efforts and this year was the most successful year to date. Harbor Docks is committed to giving back to the Destin community.

Morgan’s charity efforts span nationwide, specifically in the Southeast. Harbor Docks’ sister restaurant, Chuck’s Fish, located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama fed over 500 guests on Thanksgiving Day, free of charge. $8,500 was raised for a Tuscaloosa charity project called Project Blessings.
