South Walton TDC Staff Additions

August 27, 2012 by SoWal Staff

The South Walton TDC has announced the addition of several new employees over the past few weeks.

As the TDC’s new beach ambassador, Chelsea Atkinson educates beachgoers about the rules of the beach and Walton County’s Leave No Trace program. A graduate of Montgomery's Huntingdon College and native of neighboring Panama City, she now resides in DeFuniak Springs. Chelsea considers herself a big foodie, and enjoys watching golf, playing with her dog, fishing and being on the water, but says she would “be content to spend the rest of my life with my toes in the sand.” Good news, considering that most days, that's exactly where they are!

The TDC's new community relations coordinator is Megan Harrison. Originally from DeFuniak Springs, Megan currently lives in Gulf Breeze with her husband, Kris. A graduate of the University of Florida, Megan enjoys college football, outdoor adventure including biking, stand up paddle boarding and running, good food, great wine and even better friends! And of course, spending time on our beautiful beaches. In her new role, Megan will be the TDC's official liaison with various community groups and oversee the organization's social media program.

The newest member on the Visitor Information Center team is lead information specialist Amanda Morgan. A graduate of Baker High School, Amanda currently resides in Point Washington with her husband, Clayton. She enjoys fishing, Auburn football and taking her dog Winston to the local dog park, Alaqua Unleashed. A self-described "super shopper," Amanda is eager to share her knowledge of local shops, restaurants and businesses with visitors
to the Information Center.
