Celebrate Art Week South Walton in May

 The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA) announces the first-ever Art Week South Walton (AWSW), an initiative bringing together neighborhoods, organizations and businesses to present quality arts and entertainment. Sponsored by Visit South Walton, 2016 Art Week includes ArtsQuest, Digital Graffiti, ECLive! and the Seaside Writers Conference, and will take place May 7th-20th in venues throughout South Walton.

Just a few years ago, starting a scuba company wasn’t even on Andy McAlexander's radar, much less his bucket list. Funny what time will do, and Andy is all smiles now as he kicks back outside his new shop in Grayton Beach.
 

Andy and his partner Laurie Schmitz Janowski opened Grayton Scuba Co. on March at 26 Logan Lane at the Shops of Grayton in the old Shooz of Grayton location. The former shoe selections have been replaced by the latest in scuba/snorkeling gear.

A Better South Walton Announces Community Meetings in May

A Better South Walton, Inc. (ABSW), a nonprofit organization founded to seek more effective governance and local representation for South Walton, is holding three community meetings to discuss the key findings of the preliminary feasibility study and the opportunities it gives the community. These meetings will give the community the chance to get the information surrounding the ABSW initiative, ask questions and voice their concerns.

New Foster Gallery at The Market Shops Calls for CAA Artists

CAA's first member artist co-op gallery to open May 23 in The Market Shops! The Cultural Arts Alliance (CAA) of Walton County announces the opening of the Foster Gallery, a CAA member artist co-op gallery located in The Market Shops next to DIG Eatery and the new Ben & Jerry's. Twelve artists will be chosen to exhibit and work in the gallery during the Summer 2016 exhibit, May 23 - August 26.

EO Wilson Biophilia Center Announces Summer Fun and Camps

Of course we all love the beach but we also love the REAL FLorida with swamps and creeks, backwoods, native plants and wildlife. We also love learning all about it and our favorite place is just up the road in Freeport. The E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center recently announced summer hours and camps for kids this Summer.
