30A St Patricks Day Parade & Festival Returns to Gulf Place Mar 12

The 9th Annual 30A St Patrick's Day Parade and Festival is coming up Saturday, March 12 in South Walton, Fla. The local parade along Scenic 30A will join the day's celebration in the Gulf Place amphitheater. Festivities will include Celtic rock bands, food and drink, and activities for the whole family.

Drum solo by John “Jabo” Starks - best known for playing with James Brown. Starks played on many of Brown’s biggest hits, either as the sole drummer or in tandem with Clyde Stubblefield, including “The Payback”, “Sex Machine”, “Super Bad”, and “Talking Loud and Saying Nothing”. He has also backed many of the artists produced or managed by Brown, most notably Lyn Collins, The JBs, and Bobby Byrd. In his long career, Starks has played with a number of major figures of the blues, including Bobby Blue Bland and B.B. King.

Visiting College Students Volunteer for Habitat for Humanity in Walton County

While many students will be enjoying relaxation and fun on our white sandy beaches and other spring break hot spots, Habitat for Humanity of Walton County, FL proudly welcomes their college spring breakers or as they call them, volunteers. With a well deserved break from classes and the stresses of college life, four campuses from across the United States are bringing students to our area to volunteer their time and efforts to support our local community and Habitat's great cause.

30A Wine Festival Weekend in Alys Beach March 10-13

The 30A Wine Festival returns to the beautiful surroundings of Alys Beach March 10-13. Now in its fifth year, the four-day Festival features a bourbon and barbeque tasting, wine tasting seminars, grand tasting event, and a croquet tournament. The celebration of wine and cuisine takes place each spring in South Walton, Florida to benefit Children's Volunteer Health Network (CVHN).
 

Risa's Interiors Creates Beautiful Homes

Risa’s Interiors has been creating dream homes on the Emerald Coast for more than 30 years. This past June, owner Risa Priestly decided to move her shop from a 3,000 sq. ft. cottage to a 12,000 sq. ft. Mediterranean-inspired showplace. The move created a huge demand for Risa’s remodeling and design services. We managed to catch up with one of the hardest working women in business, and she filled us in on how far she’s come, what keeps her grounded, and what she’s looking forward to next.
