Hooking Big Time at Indian Pass

Been over at Indian Pass for almost two weeks now on the annual Tarpon and Triple Tail hunt. As always the 1st two days were spent cleaning and fixin' at the fish camp to get it ready for my anglers.

The evening of the second day my wife and I took the truck down to the beach to drive a bit and check out the Pass and Gulf. We hadn't gone a quarter mile and Mary said "I just saw a couple tarpon". I stopped the truck and we sat and watched a great feed right in the pass for about 15 minutes.

Walton County Florida Real Estate Report for July 2015

The latest real estate report for July 2015 includes statistics for single family homes in Walton County, Florida. It looks like beach lovers were on the beach instead of the closing room. Closed sales were up just 5% for July compared to the same month last year. June 2015 closed sales were up 28% over June 2014.

The increase in closed sales was one of the smallest increases in awhile. And yet it was an increase, which continues the record hot streak for SoWal real estate. A statistic that jumps out is average sales price, which leaped 27%, as inventory continues to dwindle.

South Walton Turtle Watch Volunteers Patrol the Beach

A giant red sun peeks over the oat-covered dunes, casting long shadows and illuminating a distinctive track in the sand, unbroken from dune toe to surf. The track was made in the midnight hour by a massive sea turtle on a mission.

Expectant mamas like her have been visiting SoWal beaches since prehistoric times, returning each year to the same spot where they hatched. Repeating the cycle by building a nest and burying dozens of eggs in the warm, incubating sands.
