South Walton is a food lover's paradise, and the SoWal crew takes advantage daily. Nearing lunchtime last Tuesday we had just visited Amy Huff of Fashionably Late. After a quick interview and photos at her new boutique at Uptown Grayton, we were starving and our creative juices were flowing. We did the usual, “Where do y’all want to go for lunch?” It's an easy decision when you're so close to "downtown" Grayton and The Red Bar.
I know it's been a while since I've posted a report but we've had lots of nice weather and I've been running hard. I took this afternoon off - no fixin' and repairing, no trip to the tackle store, boat supply or bait shop.
When I got done with the boat from this morning's trip I took a two-hour nap and now I am writing this fishing report. All the 14 hour days are starting to wear on an old guy! Gotta stay on top of my game. I have about nine more days here in Grayton/Seagrove and then I am off to Indian pass to chase Tarpons and Tripletails for a few weeks.
It's always a great party and it's for a great cause - raising funds every year for one of our favorite local organizations - Children's Volunteer Health Network (CVHN). They see to it that all children in our area receive needed medical and dental care. We're thrilled Bud & Alley’s will be hosting the 11th Annual Hurricane Party again this year. The Hurricane Party will take place on Friday, Sept. 25 from 6:30-10:00 p.m. with all proceeds benefiting CVHN.

Food For Thought Outreach expects to serve over 1,200 students each week through its backpack program during the 2015-2016 school year - a significant 56% increase from last school year’s 770 students enrolled in the program. Every month, Food For Thought sends over 50,000 food items out to help battle food insecurity in Okaloosa and Walton counties. Add the year-to-year growth to the increased demand for assistance from Food For Thought’s summer outreach programs, and that can empty a warehouse very quickly.

The latest real estate report for June 2015 includes statistics for single family homes in Walton County, Florida. It was an impressive month for real estate in South Walton. Closed sales for single family homes county-wide were up a whopping 28% over the same month last year!
I've been a SoWal local for 11 years and have lived in the same house for eight years. One day my husband Mark and I faced the fact that our cute cottage was in desperate need of an outdoor makeover. The landscaping was a mess and we knew just who to call.
Amy Huff has been changing outfits four times a day since she was four. These days the owner of Fashionably Late, an upscale women’s boutique located in Uptown Grayton, still looks cute, only she makes sure everyone else shopping in her store does, too.
