Visit Coastal Skin Surgery and Dermatology in Miramar Beach for free skin cancer screenings on Melanoma Monday, May 5 from 1-4pm.

Coastal Skin Surgery and Dermatology is supporting the American Academy of Dermatology’s nationwide efforts to raise awareness of skin cancer by offering the community free skin cancer screenings in their Destin/Miramar Beach office. Walk-ins and people of all ages are welcome. 

Seaside will host a job fair on Saturday, May 3, from 10am-2pm at the new Assembly Hall on Smolian Circle, located across the Lyceum Lawn from the Seaside Neighborhood School. 

The Grand Opening of "The Tack Room" at Gulfside Trail Rides will take place May 1 at 6:30pm, benefitting Alaqua Animal Refuge. Reverie Lane will be onstage playing tunes, and the band consists of Spencer Bartoletti, Danielle Bourjeaurd, and Presley Tucker (Tanya Tucker's daughter).

Gulf Cemetery will celebrate it’s centennial birthday Monday, May 26 at 10am by unveiling a historical  marker during their Memorial Day Observance. The site will be recognized by the State of Florida as a historical landmark.

The Memorial Day event will include keynote remarks by Rev. Don Ullrich, Colonel, retired USAF. The Historic Marker will be unveiled by Michael Zimny, Specialist with the State of Florida Historical Council.

The Bear is the brainchild of husband and wife singer/songwriters Louisa Murray and Nathan Pitts.  Based in the Shoals area of North Alabama, the couple began The Bear as a duo, but gradually added an ensemble of multi-instrumentalists. Kyle Minckler, Ben Stedman, Daniel Stoddard, and Ben Tanner accompany Murray and Pitts, rotating on drums, upright and electric basses, guitar, pedal steel, banjo, ukulele, flute, and a variety of keyboards and percussion instruments.  The result is a widely varied sound that is difficult to pigeonhole but consistently surprising and exciting.

Owner and Chef Jim Shirley is also the owner of South Walton favorites, Great Southern Cafe and The Melt Down on 30A. The Bay, located right on the Choctawhatchee Bay, will feature a 55-foot food bar, part of which will be a sushi bar.
