Sinfonia Gulf Coast Announces 2012-2013 Schedule

Sinfonia’s seventh year of innovative musical programming reaffims the organizations commitment to excellence for the 2012-2013 schedule.

Maintaining the tradition of “symphony redefined,” the non-profit symphony has scheduled a stellar line up of concerts with world-renowned guest artists. Dubbed “007 Years of Symphony Redefined,” the season culminates in an orchestral tour de force of the original soundtracks from all of the “James Bond” films in “Bond & Beyond: Celebrating 50 years of James Bond.”

Duke & The King Documentary to Make Florida Premiere at 30A Songwriters Festival

The award-winning documentary about local musician Duke Bardwell is finally coming to Florida with a special screening at the 2013 30A Songwriters Festival.  Duke & The King tells the story of Duke, one of our great, unheralded musicians and songwriters in America. He's a low-key and humble SoWal celebrity (see story below).

Senator Bob Graham to be Awarded the Seaside Prize February 2

The Seaside Institute will award this year’s Seaside Prize to Senator Bob Graham. The Seaside Prize is awarded annually to individuals or organizations that have made significant contributions to the quality and character of our communities.

The ceremony will take place as part of the Seaside Prize weekend events, which will be held on the first weekend in February in Seaside, Florida.

Festival of Trees Kicks-off the Season in Grand Boulevard at Sandestin

Grand Boulevard’s third annual “Festival of Trees” will showcase 13 uniquely decorated Christmas trees from area non-profit organizations, Nov. 20 – Dec. 25 in Grand Park. The public is invited to attend the kick-off on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m. as the trees are lighted, judged on their decorations, and winners are announced at 6 p.m. “Festival of Trees” is free and open to the public.

Flutterby Festival Flitters Into Rosemary Beach November 10 & 11

One of South Walton's most popular fall events, the annual Flutterby Festival is returning to Rosemary Beach, November 10-11, 2012. Presented by the Merchants of Rosemary Beach and the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA), the annual Flutterby Festival celebrates art, nature, and the migration of the Monarch Butterfly. Sandestin Serve2Cure Tennis Tournament Has Successful Annual Event

Saturday, October 6, Sandestin Tennis hosted it's annual Serve2Cure Fundraiser.  The staff of Sandestin Tennis, volunteers, guests, and the community raised more than $24,000 for Sacred Heart Hospital, and its program to help meet breast cancer needs of underserved patients.  The oncology department of Sacred Heart Hospital is the only treatment center in the Emerald Coast area that will accept non-insured patients.
