World Paddle For The Planet 2013 is a four-day eco-educational fundraiser festival culminating with a 24-hour paddle on beautiful Lake Powell, the largest coastal dune lake in the State of Florida and designated a "Pristine Florida Waterway". Festival events will be held in Carillon Beach and Camp Helen State Park October 10-13, 2013.
Harbor Docks is hosting its 19th Annual Take-A-Kid-Fishing Day on Sunday, November 3, 2013, and has 350 openings for children and chaperones.
For the past 18 years, Harbor Docks has taken hundreds of underprivileged children out for a free day of fishing. The majority of these kids have never been out on the water. After an exciting day of fishing, Harbor Docks treats the families to a fish fry to celebrate. Last year 57 of Destin’s finest charter boats offered their services to take the children out for a fun day of fishing.

The event begins with an artist reception on Friday from 4-6 p.m. welcoming award winning glass artist Cal Breed of Orbix Hot Glass in Fort Payne, Alabama. The fun-filled, four-day Panama City Beach Seafood Festival Oct. 17-20 offers mouthwatering seafood, some of the world’s most beautiful beaches and nonstop music from some of the industry’s top performers and rising stars. Kicking off The Seaside Repertory Theatre's Fall Concert Series is Grammy-nominated, Nashville singer-songwriter Gretchen Peters. The concert is Oct. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Seaside Meeting Hall Theatre.

The South Walton community rallied together on Thursday, September 26 to enjoy a festive evening of camaraderie and participate in an online auction and art raffle of select works from celebrated artist Justin Gaffrey all in support of Food For Thought Outreach, a Walton County-based non-profit that provides food to local children in need.
