Kicking off The Seaside Repertory Theatre's Fall Concert Series is Grammy-nominated, Nashville singer-songwriter Gretchen Peters.  The concert is Oct. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Seaside Meeting Hall Theatre.

The judging is complete and the official results are in for our 2013 "You're So SoWal if..." contest!  We laughed and we cried, and we appreciate the flood of entries from SoWal beach lovers near and far! 

This is the third year we've had our contest and every year we've been dazzled by the creative, funny, and heartwarming entries. Thanks to everyone for sharing what SoWal means to you, especially our loyal SoWal Forum members.

SoWal.com recognizes National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October again this year with our special edition pink SoWal stickers. The pink stickers are very popular in South Walton and are a hot item - so get yours before they are all gone! The back of this year's pink sticker promotes Olsen Women's Diagnostic Center at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast.

The South Walton community rallied together on Thursday, September 26 to enjoy a festive evening of camaraderie and participate in an online auction and art raffle of select works from celebrated artist Justin Gaffrey all in support of Food For Thought Outreach, a Walton County-based non-profit that provides food to local children in need.

2013 DESTIN SEAFOOD FESTIVAL HAS BEEN CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER

From Friday Oct. 4th to Sunday Oct. 6th, the Destin Harbor Boardwalk will be the center of the party that locals look forward to every year.

South Walton Fashion Week announces Project Runway’s Mychael Knight as one of the celebrity judges attending October 11-13th festivities in Grand Boulevard’s Town Center at Sandestin. 

Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, the #1 Resort on Florida’s Emerald Coast, announces Habitrot for Humanity, a half marathon and 5k race Saturday, Oct. 5, to benefit Habitat for Humanity. Sandestin invites running enthusiasts this fall to enjoy the mild, sunny weather and scenic trails all throughout the beautiful 2,400 acre resort.

Barber & gall promotions recently announced a new quarterly event series, Ladies That Lunch, to benefit several charities throughout the Northwest Florida region. The inaugural event, to raise breast cancer awareness, will occur on Friday, October 18, and will benefit the American Cancer Society.
 

Rosemary Beach Foundation is honored to welcome John Hemingway to the Rosemary Beach Lecture Series. The event will take place at Rosemary Beach Town Hall Thursday, October 10 at 6:00 p.m. for a wine reception followed by a lecture and conversation with John Hemingway, and then a book signing. Tickets are available and priced at $100 for individual and $150 per couple.
