Guglielmo's Golf ParTee Benefiting Sacred Heart Foundation

Monday, October 21, at Emerald Bay Golf Club in Destin, enjoy an exciting round of golf for a great cause, featuring lunch by Guglielmo and a shotgun scramble. All golfers, sponsors and their guest are invited to enjoy a special post After-ParTee. Net proceeds are designated for the expansion of Children's Services at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast.

Harbor Docks Hosts Fall Charity Events

On Friday August 23 Harbor Docks will host the 28th annual Caddy Shack Classic Charity Golf Tournament at Emerald Bay Golf Club. The tournament has a scramble format. Registration begins at noon at Emerald Bay Golf Club with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The cost is $500 per team or $125 per golfer. Hole sponsorships are available for $100. Mulligans, closest to the pin, long drives, and other contests can be entered at the course for donations. More than $300,000 has been raised since the tournament’s inception.
 

Calling All Designers & Models for South Walton Fashion Week

South Walton Fashion Week is right around the corner and you can already hear the high heels coming down the runway. Scheduled for October 11-13, 2013, SWFW in Grand Boulevard’s Town Center at Sandestin is calling all aspiring designers and models to apply now through September 3, 2013. Applications must be submitted at swfw.org. Get your application in soon to be a part of the first South Walton Fashion Week!

The Ballots have been counted as Emerald Coast Magazine and the Junior League of the Emerald Coast eagerly prepare for the 2013 “Best Of the Emerald Coast” (BOEC) Event.  Each year readers of Emerald Coast Magazine cast votes for the “Best of the Emerald Coast” to choose the finest food, services, and places our region has to offer.  BOEC is an event showcasing the area's best of the best as voted by readers of Emerald Coast Magazine. Winners will be honored at the annual “Best Of” awards ceremony a week prior to the event.
 

Alys Beach 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run September 1

Join the fun at the Alys Beach 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run on Sunday, September 1, 2013 in Alys Beach, Florida. Located along Scenic Hwy 30A, the course winds through the beautiful town. The event also features an oversized obstacle course for kids of all ages and will end with music, food, and beverages available in the Amphitheatre. The price to participate in the certified 5K is $35 and $10 for the 1 Mile Fun Run (kids 12 and younger only, please).

Visions of Seaside: Foundations / Evolution / Imagination / Built & Unbuilt Architecture, a new 608-page book by Dhiru A. Thadani, is now available in select stores in Seaside, Florida. The hard-bound, coffee table book explores important pieces of Seaside history, insights and ideas and will be sold exclusively in Seaside until September 3 and then available on Amazon and Random House bookstores.

Surfrider Foundation Kid’s Surf Classic 2013

The Emerald Coast Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation, is stoked to host the 2nd annual Kid’s Surf Classic. It’s a surfing contest just for kids! For many it will be a first-time surfing experience and for some its a chance to show off their skills.

For parents and children alike, it will surely be a great time on the beach. Need a surfboard? We will have a variety of longboards, shortboards, and fishes available for use. Need help catching waves? Have a parent assist you in the lineup, or we’ll provide a surfing expert to help get you into some waves.
