November 13, 2013 by SoWal Staff

Families and friends, furry and otherwise, are invited to the Third Annual Rosemary Beach Unleashed event coming up on Sunday, Nov. 17. The community festival is a fun filled afternoon on East Long Green from 1 to 4 p.m. This year, dogs can participate in a variety of competitions such as children’s handling, best trick, dog fashion show, and agility demonstrations. Music, bake sale, children's dance performances, and photo opps will entertain one and all. Pet adoptions, pet-icures and "purr"fect tie-dye shirts are all part of the fun day in Rosemary Beach.

"Rosemary Beach Unleashed is one of my favorite events of the year. A great time is had by all - from families to their beloved dogs - and Alaqua is fortunate enough to be the co-beneficiary each year, "  says Laurie Hood, Alaqua Animal Refuge founder. "It is a wonderful community festival and we are so grateful to be part of it."

Make plans to bring your favorite furry friend and your family to Rosemary Beach Unleashed for So Much Doggone Fun! This annual festival is free and open to the public, and benefits Rosemary Beach Foundation and Alaqua Animal Refuge. Alaqua Animal Refuge was founded in 2007 by Walton County resident Laurie Hood when she discovered that countless animals were being euthanized due to the lack of a no-kill shelter/adoption organization in the area. Since that time, Alaqua Animal Refuge has helped find homes for thousands of animals. Currently, up to 100 animals are adopted per month from this unique shelter and adoption center, which serves as a true refuge for more than 250 animals at any given time.

Rosemary Beach Foundation provides cultural, educational and charitable activities for residents and visitors of Walton County while continuing to support local charities and community projects. In the organization's 7-year history, Rosemary Beach Foundation has donated over $375,000. Annual programs include Music in Pictures, Girls Getaway, Rosemary Beach Unleashed, Fall Lecture Series, and Walk Her Way. Learn more about the foundation's programs at www.rosemarybeachfoundation.org.
