You do realize she is a VP candidate? Would you vote for a prez based on who the VP candidate is? Or are you looking for a way to justify a decision you're already leaning toward?

Well, yes, it IS important who our next vice president will be and you'd be foolish not to look good and hard about what that person stands for. It's not exactly unheard of for a vice president to become president, you know. Think of all the behind-the-scenes power Dick Cheney has and you will understand why we must choose our next VP very carefully.

You mean the one with the almost Simpson like yellow hair? He was cute until he opened his mouth.

No--brown fauxhawk, white satin shirt open to a nice 70s length (possibly a necklace,) and a very Carson Kressley look on his face. He was either gay or just dressed like one of those baseball players who don't know how to dress when they have to take off their tight pants and knee socks. (He didn't look 'roided up enough to be a baseball player, though.)

Speaking of hot*, I would totally have Todd Palin's 5 kids.

*Actually I wasn't speaking of hot. I just needed that segue.

I missed that, but since it was the RNC he probably has a wife who fixes buses. :D

Ummm...and what's wrong with that? I was in manual labor for 13 years, and I'm going to throw a hand shovel at you when I see you.

Next you're gonna make me throw in for the U-Haul since all the stuff you're throwing at me won't fit in the mini. :D

Seriously though, I wasn't really feeling it last night. When I got home I checked my email and someone had signed me up for an ex-gay newsletter.

All this Republican talk of change - first they criticize Obama saying it, then THEY use the word. What change would McCain/Palin bring to Washington? I see no big difference in them and what is currently there- funny definition of change.

Palin is a good speaker.

this is what I find exciting about Sarah's appeal, while I don't agree with her on all her viewpoints, she is dynamic, not afraid to play with the big boys and has the potential to change what has been typically not available to women and a mother of 5 kids! I loved her accent too! Before anyone knocks me down for it, that is just one little thing that made it even more enjoyable to listen to her message. When she said she would be an advocate for special needs, that tugged at my heart.

I agree with you on these points. I actually really liked her last night -- a few points in her speech bothered me. But that might be because I like Obama so much! But in general I liked her delivery style, her spunk, her personality. I don't agree with her policies very much and I don't think she is the right person to fix our international relations. So, I won't be voting for her for VP -- but I wouldn't mind seeing her in a national politics role. She definitely brings a different perspective than most of Washington!

I still think the timing might not be a good idea for her family -- as they are going through 2 major crises. And I'm tired of people saying that it's sexist -- "no one would be questioning it if she were a man". . . well we should hold men to the same high standards, not lower them for everyone. I believe it was '92 that Gore decided not to run b/c his family was still healing from the loss of a child -- and he didn't think it was the right decision to leave his family to campaign.

Did anyone else catch this moment -- It was hysterical to me. . .

The Gov of Hawaii was speaking. She said "some people think that Alaska is a small state. But they have the same electoral votes as" . . . ..wait for it. . . . . ." Delaware." The crowd went wild. Woo-hoo. Yeah. Take that Democrats. Alaska isn't small at all. It has the same electoral votes as the super large state of Delaware. Woo-hoo!!! HUH???? As soon as the crowd calmed down she went on to deliver the punchline -- "and you can fit 200+ states the size of delaware within it's borders." The crowd cheered again.

People, pay attention. If you are going to be at the convention, you have to wait until the punchline is delivered. Don't they have "applause" signs??

So agree with you! And, I wonder what all those thousands of disenfrancised factory workers on the South side of Chicago think about her ridicule of Obama community organizing.
