It is somewhat a meloncholy story of a young college kid who was attending Emory and decided to pack it up and travel to Alaska. He drove his car out west, ditched it, and burned all of his money. He hitched a ride to CA and then up the coast to Alaska to live in the wild. His body was found in an abandoned school bus, which was used seasonally as a hunters' cabin. I won't give you the full story, but it is a great read. Krakauer interviewed many people who had encountered the young man in his travels and that is how his travels and personality are unvailed. If you thought "Into Thin Air" was good, read this one today. You will fall in love with this kid, and question why he does what he does at the same time. If he had only... this could be a person not too much unlike the well-known Thoreau. He is different, but similar in some ways.audie said:what is his "into the wild" about ?
