January 8, 2014 by Teresa Lischka

Seaside’s Escape To Create artist residency launches its 23rd season with the arrival of six artists selected from an international pool of applicants for the renowned creative retreat.

The only artist residency of its kind in the Florida Gulf Region, "E2C" and the community of Seaside have welcomed artists to Scenic 30A since 1993. Drawing audiences from throughout the southeast, a variety of cultural programs showcasing the multi-disciplinary artists are offered throughout this January and February.

The 2014 performance season opens on Saturday, January 11th at 7:30 pm at Seaside RepertoryTheatre with a program featuring an artistic pairing of international art + environmental journalism.

Multi-media artist and photographic journalist Jenny Krasner has documented the cross-cultural clashes inherent in globalization throughout China, India, and Thialand. Currently shooting at the Pushkar Camel Fair in Cambodia, Krasner will present her pictorial and creative new world, Made In China.

Award winning environmental journalist Cynthia Barnett addresses the #1 environmental concern of most Americans: WATER. In her presentation, Blue Revolution: A Water Ethic for America and Florida, Barnett outlines an efficient and proven shared water ethic as practiced by communities from San Antonio to Singapore.
