Edward's Hosts Godfather Dinner and Movie December 5th

November 26, 2012 by admin

The Godfather has long been Chef Ed’s ultimate favorite movie (followed closely by Godfather II and III). Not long after we met, I sat and really watched the movie. I immediately saw why he loved it so and became a fan myself. The movie is so rich in wine and food scenes and references, that we, obsessed with food and wine as we are, can’t go a week without quoting or referring to the Godfather.

We often talked about having a Godfather dinner party but were always too busy to get it together. And then, we opened Edward’s. I remember before we opened last spring, sitting at our newly delivered bar late one night, drywall dust floating down like snowflakes. We were enjoying a cold beer and looking out over the courtyard. That was when the idea struck us.

I said, “Ed, The Godfather would be awesome on that wall!”

Ed didn’t miss a beat. He replied, “red sauce, meatballs, Italian Wine.” And together we finished the thought, “Cannoli!”

Wednesday, December 5th at 6pm we are hosting Edward’s first Godfather inspired prix fixe dinner at our restaurant in Rosemary Beach. Our vision is for everyone to come together with appetizers and wine under the olive and orange trees in the courtyard.

Dinner will be served “family style” with platters of antipasti and Snapper al Cartaccio (baked in the New York Times). We are going all out to find the most authentic wines to pair with each course. The movie will projected on the high wall of our courtyard to add a backdrop to the dinner. After dinner, retire to the courtyard with your cigars and after-dinner wine to discuss family business.

We are so excited to put this dinner on. It promises to be a deliciously memorable night. Tuxedos and bridesmaid dresses optional. Seating is limited so call today for your ticket - $70 per person. 850-231-0550 or 205-613-8289. For more information email info@edwards30a.com.

See you at Edward's! - Erin Mason
