Expanded WaterColor Beach Club & More at WaterColor Inn

May 27, 2020 by SoWal Staff

WaterColor Inn guests can now enjoy two exciting, recently completed projects - an expansion of WaterColor Beach Club and Camp WaterColor,  adding even more family-friendly outdoor recreation and dining options.

With the addition of six WaterColor pools, WaterColor Inn now has the most pool access on Scenic 30A, as well as several new casual dining restaurants – providing families with plenty of options for basking in the SoWal sun, just steps away from our sugar-white beaches.

The newly expanded WaterColor Beach Club has a new main pool with seating and lounge areas, a second pool deck with lounge seating and a third pool with zero-entry – all with unobstructed views of the Gulf. Guests also have the chance to indulge in an array of brand-new resort dining venues, including Costa Chica and the newly renovated WaterColor Grill, which will also serve the first- and second-level pool decks.

During the day, WaterColor Grill will offer a fresh and casual menu of small and shared plates, handhelds, salads and bowl. At dinner, the menu will focus on Italian fare, complete  with signature and build-your-own pizzas, hearty sandwiches and a selection of Italian wines; this menu is slated to be available for delivery within the WaterColor community later this year. The Club’s expansion also includes the addition of a brand-new casual fast-dining option, aptly named Beach Cow, anticipated to open later this summer. To-go drinks and cocktails will continue to be available at the beachside Tiki Bar.

Additionally, Camp WaterColor, which opened last year, is the ideal recreational destination for families, featuring the main Butterfly Pool with Monarch Slide; the Caterpillar Pool, a zero-entry pool and small children’s area and slide; and the Lazy Lizard Pool, a zero-entry lazy river. The pool areas are supervised by a lifeguard on duty. Camp WaterColor also features a playground and basketball court, in addition to The Canteen Restaurant & Bar, which serves a casual menu of food and drinks daily.

As a St. Joe Hospitality-managed property, WaterColor Inn guests can also enjoy access to an array of St. Joe Hospitality’s membership club’s amenities, including private golf and beach club access. These currently include Origins Golf Club, WaterSound Beach Club and Shark’s Tooth Golf Club, offered through The Clubs by JOE.

Nestled within 500 acres of sugar-white sand beach and surrounded by pine forests alongside Western Lake, WaterColor Inn has become a beloved  multigenerational beach tradition for those traveling to Scenic 30A in South Walton. Opened in 2002, the Forbes Four-Star and AAA Four-Diamond 60-room WaterColor Inn perfectly encapsulates the spirit of an intimate beach getaway – while providing the functionality necessary for a family vacation. From the David Rockwell-designed accommodations to the pair of Adirondack chairs on each private balcony (at precise sunset-level), guests can expect to have a relaxing, comfortable and Gulf-inspired stay – their own seaside oasis.

Like the rest of the country, WaterColor Inn is getting used to a new normal. With its reopening, the hotel’s promise to its guests remains the same: to provide a hospitable, comfortable, beautiful and relaxing stay. WaterColor Inn continues to uphold the highest sanitation and guest-servicing standards and will continue to adjust its operations in accordance with guidelines and recommendations from the CDC and the State of Florida. It has also relaxed its cancellation policy with guests’ flexibility in mind. For the most up-to-date hotel information, visit
