March 25, 2013 by SoWal Staff

Local children-based non-profit, Food for Thought, will host its second annual Charity Golf Classic fundraiser on Saturday, April 6, 2013. The tournament will take place at The Links Golf Club at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort. All proceeds will benefit Food For Thought Outreach.

“Golf and springtime at the beach are a perfect combination and we are excited that these activities will benefit our organization,” says Tiffanie Shelton, Founder and Director of Food for Thought. “Players can look forward to a great round of golf and we are excited about raising money to stock our pantry for our summer 2013 program.”

The competition and fun begin with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start. Tournament players and teams can look forward to a number of skill games and extras including a team package deal offering eight mulligans, four “tee busters,” and eight drink tickets. Players can also enjoy the putting contest, Cornucopia. Player registration is open until Monday, April 1 and is $75 per golfer. To register visit info@foodforthoughtfl.org. Players are included in four-person teams and the registration fee includes lunch prepared by The Links Golf Course.

In addition to supporting Food for Thought, players can take advantage of the renowned Links Golf Course. Designed by architect, Tom Jackson, the course has been named one of the “Top Five Golf Courses in Northwest Florida” and one of the “Top 100 Courses in Florida” by Florida Golf News.

Want to get involved? Those who would like to volunteer for the second annual Charity Golf Tournament should contact Food For Thought at info@foodforthoughtfl.org by April 1st.
