Great American Picnic is a Family Tradition Oct 18

The Great American Picnic returns to Watersound Origins on Sunday, Oct. 18 at 3 P.M. with great fun throughout Wind Garden Park until 7 P.M. It's a free outdoor event featuring live entertainment, family-friendly activities, food trucks, and lawn games, all for a couple of good local causes.

This year’s event features food trucks from around the area, a cornhole tournament and other lawn games. There will be a variety of activities for kids and kids at heart including face painting, pumpkin painting, football toss with CVHN, and more! The Cornhole Tournament benefiting Food for Thought is from 3:00-5:00 p.m, so grab a friend register to participate! The entry fee is $50 per team and you have a chance to win awesome prizes! Register your team HERE!
Prizes include:
1st Place (2) Yeti Soft Sided Coolers filled with $400 worth of prizes
2nd Place – Dinner for Two at Fish Out of Water & an Overnight Stay at WaterColor Inn
3rd Place - 2 Comp Rounds at Camp Creek Golf Course
Chill out in your chairs or spead out the blankets and enjoy live entertainment all afternoon and into the evening. Hailing from Destin, Florida, local band Continuum will perform live from 3 – 5p.m.. The Shadowboxers, based out of Atlanta, will close out the evening with a set from 5 – 7p.m.
A variety of local food trucks including Sweet Henrietta’s, The Hub, Long Leaf Mobile and Ticheli’s Italian Pizza will be providing food for purchase, so come with an appetite! A portion of food truck proceeds will benefit CVHN. Chairs, blankets and coolers are welcome. Alcohol will not be available for sale at the event. Watersound Cafe will be open.
Benefiting organizations are Food for Thought, a non‐profit organization based in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, that provides backpacks filled with healthy, easy‐to‐prepare food for students who are dependent on free or reduced school lunches; and Children’s Volunteer Health Network (CVHN), an organization that provides mental, dental and medical health care to uninsured school‐aged children in Walton and Okaloosa counties.
