Sage has shared stages with Sarah McLachlan, A Great Big World, Judy Collins, Colin Hay, Shawn Colvin, Marc Cohn, The Animals and Ani DiFranco. She has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and received numerous songwriting awards including The John Lennon Songwriting Contest (Grand Prize) and several Independent Music Awards. Her songs have appeared on MTV, HBO, the “Fame” soundtrack, and in the current season of Lifetime’s #1 reality series, Dance Moms.
Following a remarkable year of ten song placements on Dance Moms, Sage's digital only compilation album, Dance Competition Collection Vol. 1, includes ten diverse songs that have been featured not only on TV but also utilized by dance companies across the United States during winning performance routines.
Sage’s latest full-length album, Blue Roses, dropped on November 4 in the US (March 2015 in the UK/Ireland). Produced by Sage and Grammy Nominee John Shyloski (Johnny Winter, Stephen Kellogg), the album features 13 brand new chamber-pop gems, and showcases the NYC-based multi-instrumentalist’s confident, sophisticated songwriting. Featuring members of Daft Punk, Patti Smith and Bruce Springsteen’s bands, the recording includes a duet with folk icon Judy Collins.
Rachael Sage has proven herself an idiosyncratic, compelling stage presence, able to infuse her shows with drama, humor, spontaneity, theatricality and, most of all, musical chops (via vocals, keyboard and guitar). With a diverse audience that celebrates her all-inclusive style, Sage has cultivated a comfort zone where GLBT and straight fans meet, with a lush sound that has earned her coverage in such notable outlets as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, American Songwriter, M Music and Musicians Magazine, iTunes Editorial, NY-1 TV and more. Sage’s most recent album, Blue Roses, has earned favorable and growing coverage. Visit www.rachaelsage.com for more information.
